  1. These animals are better then pest control. If you see one in ur yard then you have been blessed. These animals will eat all the insects you don’t want in ur house

  2. Im here cause I almost run a possum down. I hate to hurt an animal on the road. Come right out of the street late at night.. O.O
Thank god no one was behind me.

  3. I have a disabled male visiting my yard. Blind in one eye and fidgety when eating. He may be a year old now. His coloration has bleached white quickly. Have tried to express my intentions of wanting to feed him but he's scared. Some times he is lucky and is in the company of passive male raccoons. His injury and the condition of an older female must be due to the aggressive mother raccoons in the area. Ive had one specifically chase down amd attack others including him, the female and adult and young raccoons. She is a defensive one and a hunter. The big older female has likely passed after I last sighted her. I attempted a capture over concern of her damaged leg but have no containment that would suit such a habit compulsive and bite strong creature like her. She was released after a few attempts to hold her in safety after being offered lots of food and water. She dragged off toward the rough, unkempt woodland to hide.

The young male keeps coming back. Sometimes absent. I dont know what to do.

  4. We have a little female opossum. She was abandoned and im training her to live in my backyard, with her own little house. She will be able to come and go freely but i like to think shed return every other night and sleep in her house.

  5. honestly i wouldnt mind even if a pet opossum could be released that someone kept it, because they are not treated good at all out in the wild and will most definitely not live up to their life span, plus they always seem happy being loved and fed all day

  6. Tlacuache is the spanish form of Tlacuatzin, the original name in
nahuatl, the language of the Aztec, it was in Mesoamerica like
Prometheus in the old world. the name tlacuache means "little one that
eats fire" is was a sacred animal for mesoamerican people, because it
stole fire from Giants in ancient times who kept it away from people,
one day Tlacuatzin stole it to help humans so they could warm themselves
and cook their food, Tlacuatzin took fire with its´tail and ran away
with it giving it to people and that is why its´tail is hairless because
    it got burned.

  7. i once crossed path with a raccoon, so one day early in the morning i had a walk with my dad, he ran while i jog lmao, and then i saw this giant ball of bushy animal with 4 legs and a puffy tail and i was like " *gasp woa what is that " so i went near him trying my best not to startle him, and the raccoon stop walking and looked at me, and i said wow what are you supposed to be because I've never seen one like you before and yeah, we just stare at each other and he just sneezed like "ksssst" and yeah i laughed and then he left, legit that was the first time i ever saw a raccoon and it was amazing lol it wasn't a possum but it was a raccoon and it was amazing HAHAHA
