Bravo, Takis and Team! If there are any turtles (fresh water terrapins) left in the polluted stream, they will struggle to survive. That might be why they were found on the road last year and this year. You might have picked up a larger female and a smaller male. Once again, humans have destroyed nature and the home of this species. If it is the Mauremys rivulata species, that is the only terrapin on Crete that is native to Crete. Others have been introduced by the pet trade. Do any of the local teachers have an interest inthis type of issue?
