Curtis Childs is the director of OffTheLeftEye at the Swedenborg Foundation. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Rev. Dr. Jonathan S. Rose is the series editor of the New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship to produce a modern, accessible translation of Emanuel Swedenborg’s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and a M.Div. in religion and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin, he has worked for years in the study of Neo-Latin and in Swedenborgian research. He was both chaplain and a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation.
Karin Childs is a scriptwriter and online moderator for offTheLeftEye. Her spiritual growth is largely informed by a lifelong Swedenborgian education. While raising five children with her husband, Jon, she applied her love of the Bible and Swedenborg’s writings to volunteer work, creating Sunday school programs and church pageants. It was Swedenborg’s works that Karin turned to for solace after the devastating death of their oldest daughter. For 17 years, she and Jon ran a small Swedenborgian publishing company to help others dealing with loss and grief, and wrote three novels herself. Now, Karin puts her compassion into action through the work of the Swedenborg Foundation.
Chelsea Odhner is a production manager and scriptwriter for offTheLeftEye. A lifelong Swedenborgian, Chelsea’s interest in Swedenborg’s spiritual work intensified in her early twenties when she realized she wanted to make conscious changes in her life and behaviors. When paired with her study of yoga practice and philosophy, Chelsea found Swedenborg’s worldview connected all the spokes of different faiths and philosophical perspectives that she values. Initially interested in pursuing a career in integrative medicine, her passion for poetry, writing, and music led her to focus on serving the spiritual side of health and well-being.

Hi, I want to know your opinion about the people who live a NDE all of them speak about reincarnation and the earth it’s a school. I don’t believe in reincarnation and when I listened to this video I felt peace and I suppose it’s the same description we have in the CORAN, about life after death. Thank you.
One thing that I can't get my head around, and I have seen many of these types of videos is, that, these people who have committed serious offenses to people and animals don't pay for what they have done, that really bugs me. Does that mean if I do atrocious things here God will forgive me and eventually I will be in heaven with him???…………

How would you really know what you are saying
There are some Christian's who believe the resurrection is the physical matter (perfected body) and non physical matter (spirit body) will reunite never to be separated again, is this in Swedenborg's teachings?

My question is this: What is this spiritual body take on? Clothes? Does it appear in clothes or is it naked?
None of this is in the Bible. Bible says clearly that the dead know nothing! They are sleeping awaiting resurrection day when they will rise in glorified bodies. Nobody is going to heaven!!! Nobody. Bible says we will dwell here on earth forever! Everything will be made new. This is just ridiculous to hear!!! Nobody is going to heaven!!!!!! Study the scripture
Thank-you. I was studying Swedenborg's teachings when I was much younger, over 40 years ago, but got away from it, although it left a lasting impression on me. That's when I became a born-again Christian. I have belonged to a few other churches since then, but none ever felt as right. Unfortunately, there have been no Swedenborg churches near me except one, and the minister there said he didn't teach Swedenborg's teachings even though it was a Swedenborg beliefs church. I'm so glad I found your YouTube videos.

I got a question? This is all base on what people say or what bible say. But no proof that it is 100% true a man is to live once and after that judgment if the bible is the whole truth why is there book taken out so is there 100% proof that this is what will happen

We have our own body that functions, where we smell, hear, see, feel and touch, which we all know it's the truth, we are entitled to know that and when we die while we are not there yet do we really know what will happen ! While we are here to follow our journey and life is rather like a foundation, discovery, it is impossible and crazy to act like we know what will it be like after we die before we reach there, if we knew what it will be like then do we really need to be here and move on to the next stage. Can you tell what is written in the book's next page or know the next chapter before you read it ! Only the author who wrote the book will know ofcourse, if you knew it you wouldn't need to read it. So only our creater will know where we go, our responsibility is to do our job how we are programmed, how we are created, the masterpiece, then our natural colour will show naturally based on where we are at the present, in the real world and not in an imaginary world. I lost my mom, she was 73 years old. She got struck by the train.
In 1994 my father passed away. 3 days before I had a beautiful dream with him. We're flying in a small airplane. He showed me the ocean; half of the sea was dark, almost black color. But, the other side was beautiful silver, shining and sparkling light.
Beautiful video, but I assure you hell is real just as heaven is. Hell was meant for satan and his followers, not humans. God forgives, but if you dont repent and turn from your wicked ways, except God into your heart then hell is where you'll spend eternity.
How would he know this? Did he die and come back if so he wasnt truely dead…no one has these answers because anyone dead never came back to tell whats there…these people talk as if they know when they know nothing of it but speak as if they are experts. How sick

Why, I wonder, do these spiritual beings have to be God? I realize its what you and this channel believe in, and I do believe there is a crossing over process, but it's the "whom" is assisting that we simply are guessing at abd I don't think we really know for sure who and what that really is until we pass. We see spiritual beings abd we immediately think it's God & Angels when that's simply what we've been taught for 2000 years and quite honestly, at that point, I doubt it matters abd I doubt they care about the mistaken identity because this is the process regardless of how we package it.
