Vampires | Superstition, Horror, and Blood
Spread The Viralist

Practically every culture in history tells stories of beings who dine on the blood of humans. Though they go by many names and take many shapes, they are known best today as vampires. A staple of horror fiction and scary movies, most people associate vampires as charismatic and attractive beings who resemble humans with fangs. Stories such as Dracula have perpetuated romantic ideals of the vampire, but as you’ll learn, the vampires of mythology are starkly different than their modern day depictions!

  1. I'd love to see a video about the Irish vampire. I hadn't heard of that particular vampire before, so I'd enjoy a video about less commonly known vampiric creatures like that

  2. A friend did research on 17th Century France and there were men and women then who claimed to be werewolves. They would change form and go out of their villages to hunt and kill vampires and witches to defend their people.

  3. Who is my favourite vampire? Kain from Legacy of Kain. On the outside he is your typical tyrant but he is a rather complex character. The game franchise shows that neither side is stictly good or evil, the creatures we see as perfect examples of wickedness are capable of doing good if given the chance & the worst kind of evil is that who masquerades as goodness.

  4. In my country I never heard about vampires untill I saw the first movies about vampires created by western civilization. How is possible to think a such stories about some creations of western civilization? I repeat, the mith of vampires is a creation of western civilization!
    Shame on western civilization!

  5. The western civilization is fascinating by blood. Shame!
The Mith of Vampires is a stupidity. Bram Stoker was the stupid Irihs write. Cursed be his name forever! Bram Stoker is a shame for Ireland and England.
    How stupid!

  6. Anne Rices vampires, especially Lestat, is what I envision a true vampire being. If you ever get a chance read Anne Rices The Vampire Lestat!!! I have seriously read it 9 times and it's better each time I read it!!!

  7. My favorite werewolf movie The beast within has a vampire in it, the more interesting and fun bit about him was we didn't know that he's a vampire until he starts actually fighting with the main character/werewolf.
One of my favorite part of the movie was the real monster was human controlling the werewolf (who was born one & didn't know) to kill people

  8. Not all vampires are adverse to holy objects, it all depends on the nature of the vampire. Undead vampires like the Strygoi and Jiangshi or demonic vampires like the Manananggal are affected by holy objects. But other vampires whose nature derives from mother nature are not affected even if they take a bath on a tub holy water

  9. I would not consider Eastern European vampires as animalistic or mindless. They are more energy feeding wraiths. Their body remains undecayed in the grave, but it does not rise from there in flesh, but in spirit. They do not drink blood, but they feed on the life force of the living. Western views of the Eastern European myths get across this feature, but refuse to see the fact that the body remains in the grave. Modern Vampires are a fusion between Eastern European vampiric wraiths (the stake in the heart, the garlic) and Western European sanguinic Revenants.
