Most pure breeds have rescues that comb through shelters looking for their breed to rehab and rehome! Check shelters first for any specific breed your looking for.. better to rescue than to perpetuate backyard breeding!
Everyone who left animals behind should have been drowned. I am so tired of monsters being allowed to have animals to abandon and abuse.

there's unfortunately going to be a lot of dogs who need rescuing due to either owners dying or abandoning them. i, personally, donated $1500 to my local shelter when i heard they were going to send a group of volunteers to ft meyers to start rescuing dogs!
Sorry but I have to say that we Humans deserve it that Mother Nature swept us away!!! WE NEVER LEARN OUR LESSON!! We showing our real character when such situations happens!!! There is NOT EXCUSE to left behind your PET'S !!

When you get a pet and aren't willing to take them with you during an emergency then don't even consider getting one. Period.
Maybe Martha's Vinyard can find room in their harts and homes to taking some pets from Florida.

I still remember Trump throwing hand towels to the desperate in similar situation in PR and he had the biggest grin for a soon to be charged criminal we all know he is.
Thankful for people who care for the animals, but if you are donating, these folks appear to spend tons of money at Trump's place.
