Family Guy is one of the longest running animated shows in history. Along the likes of The Simpsons and South Park, it seems Family Guy is going to be a mainstay for many years to come. But throughout Family Guy’s historic run, there have been a fair share of great episodes, and terrible episodes. We take a look at one of the all time worst episodes of Family Guy.

  1. Always thought they decided kill Brian off because of how much his character was regressed over the years. Going from the straight man with realistic problems and struggle (his addiction/therapy is still one of my favorite things from family guy) to basically Seth's self insert character. And much how like "petarded" was start of Peter's downfall, "not all dogs go to heaven" was Brian's. I will never understand why Seth would allow his characters he created to be turned into hollow flanderized shells off their former self.

  2. Imo
Not every show needs to be emotional
I'm totally fine with the joke rate and lack of emotion in family guy
In fact the higher the joke rate is the more i like the episode
    Heyim Just here to laugh
    Nothing wrong with that

  3. I do think this was a low point in the show but for some reason around seasons 15 and 16 I genuinely started liking and watching the show again, I don’t know if it was because I took a break from watching it or if they managed to bring back some endearing qualities but I’ve genuinely liked the show since then

  4. That's such a film school douchebag take. They've had way worse episodes like the silent screams of Brenda Q, and most of the episodes they do now because they refuse to end the show like the Simpsons.

  5. "Worst" episode? Nah. It was kind of the final nail in the coffin for the show though. Kind of worked as a "series finale", a good exit point is when he gets brought back to life a couple episodes later. They could've ended the series there. Ever since then, from 2013 onward, the series has been on autopilot. Lots of cheap laughs, no real heart to the characters. But then again, I still think "Stewie Kills Lois/Lois kills Stewie" from Season 6 would've been a good series finale.

  6. Anyone remember the stupid conspiracy about Brian dying and Paul Walker who’s name in the fast and furious franchise being Brian dying like the same week?

  7. Family guy was prime before season 9 now its developed into a politcal and pc show. South park has lasted for so much longer because they would dive even further into criticism and also talked about topics that wouldn't be main stream for years to come.

  8. I've said for a long time that each episode in seasons 1-3 are comedic masterpieces. But after the show returned in 2005 they did become more focused on cutaway gags and it less serious heart and like "South Park" it became more of a show that was just joke after joke. It's a shame that just like "The Simpsons" this show was way better 20 years ago.

  9. Really I always hated Brian so when he died I didn’t really care. But when they brought him back and he didn’t change the way he was I never hated Brain more than ever

  10. The way you know a beloved superhero's death in a comic isn't permanent is it's in a comic. Even if it's supposed to be permanent at the time, it won't be.

  11. Had to stop watching due to an untrue statement. I personally love a show where characters die and come back later down the road. Leaves me curious as to how and when they will return. But that is only my opinion and for all ik i could be the odd one out who ruins it for everyone by saying that.

  12. I always had the feeling that killing off Brian was made for shock value and nothing else, especially when we consider how hated he was during that time. At one point it feels like it's permanent by eliminating the time machine off the equation and getting Vinny into the cast, but SURPRISE SURPRISE, that was a troleador cara moment and Brian is back before the season even ends.
That's the kind of shit you need to think through not one, not twice, but 30 times before putting it into motion if you are a writer. Brian's death got no impact afterwards because they couldn't spent a single episode without the status quo being changed. Comparing it to it's sister series, American Dad, when they cut a character, wether it be temporarly or permanently, it stuck for lots of episodes until reversed, to put an example, Hailey ran away with her boyfriend (now husband) Jeff and she was abscent for a bunch of episodes after until the writers decided to bring her back, now with Jeff as part of the household. If you are going to Thanos snap someone from the main cast, at least have the guts to stick with it for longer than an episode, like, have Vinny be part of the household for longer to fully establish who he is while Stewie starts to miss time traveling, at least as an incentive to rebuild the damn thing without Brian being the reason.

I don't know why I go to the bother of writing long essays on a show I never liked in the first place, probably because it got to it's downfall so fast that almost no one remembers the moments this show was good, maybe a part of me wants to know how those high points were, maybe.

  13. Seashell Seahorse Party is a MUCH worse episode than this. It gave the worst reasons to maintain status quo for a joke people haven't found funny since

  14. I stopped watching when they did that OJ Simpson episode. Seemed like I was the last of my friends still watching the show hoping things get better.

  15. No, it cannot get back to its glory days. It has seen too much success pandering to the LCD and there is no path back from that point. CREAM.

  16. When when Sam the guy was initially cancelled and then brought back Seth MacFarlane you no matter how creatively bankrupt, horrible and even Strait up messed up the humor would be the show pretty much became Immortal like The Simpsons and SpongeBob SquarePants

  17. It's a shame because I really like Family Guy in the early seasons like most people did but it seems after this episode Seth MacFarlane put all his created effort into other projects and it just using Family Guys a cash cow which is understandable because the paychecks must be massive….That's probably why shows like Simpson's and SpongeBob still on the air because no matter how creatively bankrupt today are they still somehow make money which is really confusing
