This adorable baby slow loris has her oversized eyes on the prize – having made a miraculous recovery since she was discovered abandoned after falling from her mother’s grasp.
The tiny one-month-old primate, whose species is critically endangered, was found lying weak and unmoving in a garden in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia, at the end of December.
But vets at International Animal Rescue (IAR)’s primate rehabilitation centre in Bogor, West Java, say the infant, named Meli after Melivana, the woman who found her, is now making remarkable progress and growing well.
Touching new images and video clips taken this week show Meli exploring a nearby tree which her new protectors take her to every day to learn to climb and feel the warmth of the sun.
