“No charges were filed.”
Think about this for a second. She wasn’t simply there to argue, she was there because of embarrassment and and attempt to teach this man a lesson. She wasnt going to simply scold him had she gotten ahold of him. She was trespassing with intent to cause violence, which is criminal trespassing.
I am not a fan of people going to jail frivolously. But I am also not a fan of double standards in this country where women, who receive nearly a 40th the sentence of their male counterparts on average, are coddled under the law.
In a stand your ground state, she could have potentially been legally shot for this. Most things you do that can result in someone legally ending your life are felonies. I’m not a fan that she wasn’t even charged.
Why no charges? Cause she was white?
