Lion Attacks Wildebeest

This huge male lion tries his luck on a feisty wildebeest, but the wildebeest fights back and startles the lion, even forcing the big cat to retreat momentarily. However, when the wildebeest becomes slightly overconfident and charges the lion a second time, he becomes trapped in the feline’s big paws, and even though the video cuts short, I’m not sure the wildebeest is escaping from such a loving hug by the lion. When a lioness tries taking down a wildebeest, something disrupts the hunt, leaving the lioness perplexed for some reason. She just stops attacking her prey. After the wildebeest realizes this, it scampers off without the lioness chasing it. Some onlookers must have made a noise and startled the feline for her to react this way. The wildebeest was extremely lucky, because it wasn’t big, and this would have been an easy meal for the big cat.

This wildebeest challenges this lion, instead of running the other way and it pays off. The lion is intimidated and backs off. As soon as the wildebeest sees the lion is leaving, it decides to chase it which is a brave gesture since the lion is capable of turning the table on the wildebeest in seconds. When a lioness waits patiently to tackle a wildebeest as a bunch of them are running wild towards her, she messes it up and misses, with the wildebeest almost running her over before she jumps to safety up the riverbank. In this video, a seemingly certain kill turns into a fiasco for this lioness. The wildebeests are quite capable of defending themselves and this bull manages to counter-attack every time. Finally, he decides to attack the lioness himself, Unnerved, the lioness gives up and abandons the hunt.

Crocodile Vs Antelope/Impala

Impalas cannot defeat crocodiles, but they can escape when they are attacked. What looks like a sure kill for this crocodile when he has his powerful jaws clamped on an impala turns into a botched one when the reptile tries to secure a tighter grip on the impala by opening his mouth. The seconds it takes the crocodile to do this allows his prey to escape and run. Drinking at a waterhole for antelopes is a matter of life and death. This small antelope nervously gets a drink of water because it understands the risks involved, but the animal has no other choice but to quench its thirst.

Low and behold, a crocodile pops out of the water, but with an extremely agile pirouette, the antelope manages to avoid being killed. A small crocodile isn’t fast enough to grab a small kudu when it comes rushing out of the water. The kudu avoids being caught, because of its quickness. This impala was being held back by a crocodile in the water and situations like this one usually end in the crocodile’s favor, but not this time, as the animal, with a lot of effort and a will to survive, managed to escape with scratches and bruises from the mighty crocodile.
