Hypothetical Animal Fights. How to Judge the Facts.
Today I will reveal how I choose the animals you can see “fighting” on my channel and based on which criteria I designate the winner. I am referring here to the fights in the “Who Would Win” series, for those in the “Fake Fight” series, I am inspired by your comments and by what I follow on similar channels.

The main goal is for the chosen fight to be as balanced as possible, to make it as difficult as possible for you to say in advance who will win. I’m looking to find for the same fight two animals about as well armed and whose size is about the same range. I am aware that in doing so, I take the risk of upsetting many of you who will not agree with my decision. Of course, if I chose more unbalanced fights like “Honey Badger vs Komodo Dragon”, we will all agree on who will win and there will be no more disputes. But I won’t do that. Even if we want, of course, that our fights to be as normal as possible, as they would be in reality, there are still some inevitable differences, which we must take into account when designating the winner. And we must be aware of these differences, so that our conclusion is as close as possible to reality. In the confrontations that take place in the wild, most of the time, the stakes of the two fighters are not equal. For example, a Grizzly Bear is often tempted to devour a Cougar’s cubs. Mother Puma will give her life without hesitation to protect her cubs and will fight to the death. On the other hand, the bear will not be willing to suffer injuries that would prevent him from hunting afterwards for such a small prey. So he will give up the fight and retreat, although the Puma may be even 4-5 times smaller than him. In our hypothetical battles, we do not take such events into account and consider that both fighters are willing to fight to the death without retreating. So the fact that in real life a Cougar will often be able to repel a Grizzly’s attack will no longer matter in our hypothetical fight. Because we start from the premise that the two fighters are equally motivated to kill each other. In the wild, animals change their fighting tactics, depending on the animal they face. Felines, for example, quickly kill their prey by suffocating it (like the lion), crushing its spinal cord (like the cougar), or even piercing its skull (like the jaguar). They are masters of ambush. Even the cheetah, the fastest land animal, tries to get as close as possible to the victim before starting the sprint. But when they face another equally strong cat, they change their fighting tactics. Instead of trying to kill quickly, they will try to inflict as many wounds as possible using their claws, trying not to be exposed to decisive bites. I usually tell you as many interesting things as I can about the animals I present to you, but when I have to decide who is more likely to win a fight, I have to take into account the premises from which I started, and the most relevant qualities for that particular fighting style. Thus, cats can no longer take advantage of skill fights to sneak in and can no longer have the advantage of surprise, as in their real life. Because they are supposed to be already face to face with the opponent, and they can no longer surprise him, as they do with their prey. Therefore, in a fight between cats, I will consider the size and strength of the claws more important than the strength of the bite. Because the decisive bite will rarely come before the victim is seriously injured by the claws. Very often, in documented fights between lions and tigers, for example, the death of one of the opponents occurs as a result of a massive hemorrhage caused by the claws. There have even been cases of evisceration, so strong and sharp are the claw blows of these animals. Thus, I will consider that a cat that has a much stronger bite, but has shorter claws and less strength in the front paws, or less balance on the hind paws, is more likely to lose in front of the opponent with stronger claws. Of course, there are other aspects that matter, I just gave an example to understand the reasoning. Based on the same reasoning, bone hardness is almost irrelevant in the case of a fight between two cats, but it is essential in the fight between two cattles. Because the cats will scratch and bite, and the cattles will hit each other hard on the head. The one with less hard bones has the best chance of dying first. In terms of the force of the bite. Of course, it is important as long as the two animals fight by biting each other. But from one point up, it is no longer so important.

  1. Hi buddy, this video was very impressing and it encourages me to countine watching animal fights, because I now know about hypothetical fights because of you. Thanks You are the best bye buddy have a wonderful day.

  2. This is so true. It's fun making controversial videos since you really get to appreciate both sides of the argument. However, what's annoying about it is the fanboys that put their favorite creature on a pedestal and can't accept it losing, so they dislike the video. Maybe there should be a response video made on some of the weirdest/ controversial comments. Keep up the good work!
