A few weeks ago I mentioned in a video that I was hired to be the host of a Thai food tv show, for a cable station in Thailand. It’s been quite a journey so far, we’ve eaten so much delicious Thai food, and I’ve had so many unique and amazing local experiences and food experiences. For the first few days I wasn’t recording much of the behinds the scenes, but since we visited so many great places I decided to try and record some behind the scenes vlogs of the places we visited and the food we ate.

Here are the main places I visited in this travel food vlog video:

1. Khlong San Market (ตลาดคลองสาน): We started by going to Khlong San Market (ตลาดคลองสาน) where I had the most amazing juice of my life, green apple mixed with fingerroot.
2. Rom Pho Restaurant (ร้านอาหารร่มโพธิ์): This restaurant is located just off a small road from Khlong San Market, specializing in Thai Isaan food, and especially som tam (green papaya salad). We did some filming there, and also had a delicious lunch before moving on.
3. Yaowarat (เยาวราช), Chinatown: One of the most famous places for food in Bangkok is Yaowarat Chinatown.
4. Khao Gaeng Jake Puey (ข้าวแกงเจ๊กปุ้ย): An extremely famous Thai rice and curry restaurant in Yaowarat. I had eaten here before, but being with the TV show, I had access to the kitchen and behind the scenes.
5. Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (วัดมังกรกมลาวาส): The most well known and important Thai Chinese Buddhist temples in Bangkok.
6. Fikeaw Yaowarat Restaurant (ร้านไฟเขียว เยาวราช): To end the day, we went to Fikeaw Yaowarat Restaurant (ร้านไฟเขียว เยาวราช), a street food stall in Yaowarat that’s known for its pyromaniac chef. He cooks on an insanely hot fire.

This was day 6 in the Thai food tv show documentary filming – it was a long day, but it was so much fun as well.

  1. Fantastically entertaining as ever!! Is there any chance of putting the Thai food documentary show you did for Thai TV on your vlog or youtube? Would love to see it

  2. Mr Wiens, I love your trips in which you try the typical food, but, you put all the food spicy chili, then how can you appreciate the food? and also eat very large bites, you are a man who many people follow you, is unpleasant.
    Excuse my sincerity
    Regards
