McDonald's shouldn't be doing well in Vietnam. Their food is toxic, full of salt, being thawed from frozen, oily, lots of carbs. Vietnamese cuisine is balanced of carbs, protein, fibers from lots of vegetables. We eat lots of vegetables and fruits.
Look at American teenagers who diet on fast food are all obese. Comparing Vietnamese Americans and Vietnamese in Vietnam the latter are in better shape physically. They are fit, slim accordingly to fitness. Growing up in America everyone chows down on processed food, big portions and they get bigger horizontally with fat in waistlines.
The culture of working and becoming too stressed out people eat to find comfort.
Why spending $ 10 for a McDonald's processed food while they can eat a healthy Vietnamese meal for half the cost.
