Just for context, I have lost 8 friends and neighbours in the last 20 years in 5 separate car accidents. I drive defensively (duh). I would never pull out to pass a cyclist or scooter without beeping my horn first to wake them up, as cyclists in particular tend to zone out after a while. I don't want to be the cause of more of the kind of heartbreak I've seen so many times.
