Update on the NO ADS in my videos. If you enjoy them with the no ads you might want to read this, its IMPORTANT!! I'll make an announcement on an upcoming video or something so more people see this. I am still continuing the no ads videos moving forward. Current videos that say "no ads" in the thumbnail or "no mid-rolls" in the video title, I have around 60 of them currently up, will REMAIN with no ads for now. Upcoming video releases will also continue to be with no ads. There is going to have to be a change unfortunately due to how bad viewership numbers have gotten. (Not any of your fault btw, its YouTube suppressing the uploads from you all)
The change that is going to be implemented moving forward is going to be with my older videos. I think for now I will do videos from 2018 to end of 2024, and maybe some from this year, will have either one or two mid-roll ads depending on the length of the video. Now before you go, hear me out on this. I don't want to do it either, and trust me I considered different options. Opening a patreon, promoting the merch more, or donations, but I don't like to ask for help. I will never ask people to donate or help sponsor these, those that help with the channel memberships and donos is a great help and I do not take any of it for granted. Thank you. However even with the amazing help by some amazing generous folks, after doing no ads in my videos for the last 4 months (I retroactively went back to every single one of my uploads and turned the mid roll ads off) I have taken a good 80-90% revenue loss on videos since I only was having display ads on which don't affect your viewing experience or an ad that plays when the video starts (pre-roll) and then no ads the whole video.
I have been putting even more hours and effort into the videos to get paid basically nothing. By turning on the mid-roll ads on older videos, this can hopefully assist with financially supporting these no mid-roll ad videos and to help them keep going. My irl job only helps so much and YouTube was a huge help to pay for, groceries, internet to even be able to bring you these videos, along with food for my birds and doggo. Now that I think about it, by watching the older videos with the mid-rolls, you are essentially donating without even having to donate since the videos with mid-rolls not only get pushed out more in the algorithm but will make more to help fund everything. My original hope was by having "no ads" in all my videos, eventually they were going to get more views than my videos with ads to cancel out the fact they have no ads with just the display ads on. Sadly, I have seen that having mid-rolls in your videos has the videos get more views as opposed to having them off. Not sure why since I always see comments of not wanting ads, but then they don't get viewed in comparison.
Sorry for such a long message here. Again, I know this sucks to hear, I don't like it either, but I think it's a good compromise. Definitely would love feedback on this and any suggestions. Thank you for your time and continued support. Much love to you all.
