I think the opt in makes no sense on a chain level it should be handled on the wallet level. I had some test usdc stuck for 24 hours because I forgot I had to opt in and I am ledger guy so I had to wait until I got home to my "security vault" before I was able to send myself some Usdc from an exchange.
Yeh I have had a play around with the python preview for Algorand. They seem to have a good seamless mechanism to get up and running with the cli.
They do need to put alot of tutorials bout therentonget familiar with Algorand libraries
