For those who don’t know lizards/Geckos usually leave their tail as a defense mechanism. Eagles or hawks usually pick them by the tail to eat so the lizards let go of it and plunge to to the ground. They regrow it.

Leopard geckos rarely drop their tails. This looks like an African Fat Tailed gecko, which is more likely to drop it's tail.

If your videos are more important to you than your animal's health, you shouldn't have the animal and certainly don't deserve it. I've had my gecko for over a decade and he's never dropped his tail because I've built up trust with him.
