Be careful with Collies, some of them can get nervous around kids. My aunt and uncle had one, and he randomly bit their 1 yr old daughter in her neck and shook her!
On the other hand we had a collie when i was a kid and she was fantastic, always patient and calm.
I heard that Collies were so over bred when the Lassie show was popular, and temperament was not concidered, so many developed nervous tendencies.
If you want to buy a Collie choose the breeder carefully, meet the parent dogs and make sure the breeder has temperament as a priority in their breeding plan.

I always adored large breed dogs, but I'm worried about how the tropical climate will agree with them. Can you suggest which large breed is best suited for tropical climate, I can promise it a large pool with shallow area for it to laze around
