Ferrets are small, domesticated mammals that belong to the weasel family. They are playful and affectionate creatures that make great pets for those looking for an alternative to cats or dogs. Ferrets have a long, slender body, with short legs and a pointed snout.
They typically have a white or cream-colored coat, with black or brown markings on their face, legs, and tail. Ferrets are intelligent and social animals that enjoy human interaction and can be trained to do simple tricks. They are also very active and require regular exercise and playtime.

  1. Love these guys. Have had one for six years now. But please know : especially if you get yours from a ferret mill like Marshall (all petco and petstore ferrets are – look for the two little tattoo dots on the inside of their ear to verify), you should prepare yourself that your little guy is basically guaranteed to get cancer of some type. Do not get a ferret if you cannot immediately and comfortably handle a several thousand dollar vet bill. I did not follow this advice, and if my little buddy had gotten diagnosed with cancer any sooner than he was at six years, I truly would have not been able to do anything for him. It was a stroke of luck that I was financially prepared to take care of him when he got sick at all. Please make sure you're ready for this responsibility! Illness is a "for sure" thing!

  2. Great pets but be prepared for adrenal gland disease which is quite common when they get around 8+ years old. It doesn’t always happen but due to over breeding, sometimes this can hit your little guy. There is treatment to slow the disease, but it’s efficacy wears down over time.

  3. Yes take them to the vet and play with them because they can get depressed and stop eating or get tumors, mine died a couple days ago

  4. Had a ferret before, and my gf had 2, they are very joyful and plenty of fun! Please clean their toilets daily and shower them from time to time to prevent awful odors.

  5. Arent they illegal in california. especially if you have a baby because a ferret ate a baby's face once because it smelled milk on the baby?

  6. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I want one when I grow up

  7. The people saying ferrets “stink” more than likely keep the pet much like a hamster than they do a Dog. Give it baths when needed and the ferret for the most part will keep itself clean. They’re very clean animals
