  1. The one crew member recovered (thus far) was a native of the town I live in (Pittsfield, Mass.) – Jacob Galliher. He leaves behind his wife Ivy, as well as his two boys (ages 2 years old, and 6 weeks old). I never knew him personally but the outpour of sorrow and grief on social media from many people in my town as a result of his loss stands as a testament to the man that he was. May he, as well as the other members with him onboard the aircraft rest in eternal peace.

  2. Initial reports say that the US Air Force CV-22 Osprey was flying level when a engine fire occurred and diverted to the closes airport to land. Civilian eyewitness reported they saw the Osprey rollover before the crash. The Osprey has mechanical gearing that allows both engines to power both rotors if one engine fails. It appears multiple failures had occurred; engine failure and gearbox failure.

  3. I did some research on this bird. Apparently, there is a persistent mechanical issue. Called a "hard clutch engagement". Often referred to as HCE is capable of shredding the components responsible for powering the Osprey's propellers and enabling it, in the event of a single engine failure, to keep flying.😮😱

  4. Not the first or last. Over the 33-year history of this aircraft the V-22 Osprey has experienced 13 “hull loss” (unrepairable) accidents that have resulted in a total of 51 fatalities: During testing from 1991 to 2006, there were four crashes resulting in 30 fatalities. They need to ground these aircraft until the do a thoruogh investigation into the root cause of these tragic accidents.

  5. What is going on with our military aircraft?! Seems like this type of incident is becoming more common as of late. Aircraft maintenance is typically pretty stringent. Several people verify repairs are completed. Aircraft is operational. Hardware, structure, software, upgrades. Everything is meticulously inspected/tested before it's cleared back to the organization. I hate to be the techs who worked on these aircraft. Sweating it out until investigation clears them.

  6. The Army plans to now buy that Bell 280 , the red-headed cousin to this monstrosity, by the thousands? They really need to have their heads examined.

  7. A widow-maker from the get-go.
Bravest Marines I ever met were test pilots at Edward's AFB flying this turkey. They knew it was a white elephant.
We drank hard at the local bars.
These smart jar heads maxxed out their life insurance. They did what they loved no matter. Semper Fi. Semper Paratus. RIP

  8. AGAIN, AGAIN??? They signed off on this piece of trash. Now they dont even run testing they just "sign off" and find out later what garbage the INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTORS has sold the taxpayers 😂😂 oh if only lil howie hughes was alive to see this grift 😂😂

  9. Hit 200k today. I'm really grateful for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 14k in June 2022<<<<<
