20. 3:55 southpark made fun of that in the 3 part super hero special they did years back, the oil company kept fucking up more and more after the initial spill, and Captain Hindsight kept showing up to tell them what they should have done to prevent it, and they'd all bless him as if he'd just saved the day. 28. 2:23 jumping in the water would absolutely be the worst idea. Not only was the surface covered in flaming oil, but that fall into water could kill you on impact. However, that being said, the movie was accurate in that Mike Williams did actually jump off into the flaming water and survived – miraculously. The fall was hundreds of feet, and for context, an Olympic high dive is from 89 feet.
    TL;DR, water's surface tension is a hard impact from high up, it's not like minecraft lmao. Especially if that water is on fire, jumping should be an absolute last resort xD
