6 years ago my girlfriends granddaughter brought a dog home since 1 of our Weiner Dogs died. The (mutt) Chomp Chomp is now my shadow. The reason she brought it home was she heard the owners say that was the last of the litter and they can't get rid of him so they are going to throw him in the river. My sister went and got a shelter dog and I have been taking care of him since my sister passed 2 years ago. And he is my shadow to.

I wholeheartedly share this sentiment. It's imperative for everyone to consider adoption rather than purchasing pets. There is an overwhelming number of dogs and cats in need of loving homes. I've personally welcomed two Chihuahuas into my life through adoption and rescue, and they have proven to be the most affectionate and devoted companions.
It doesn't get any better than this dose it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

A couple years ago my fiancee and i brought our newly adopted cat to a shelter to be spayed by the shelter's vet, and we ended up adopting a dog that day. We werent looking for a dog, but when we saw him we werent leaving without him.
When we adopted him all he wanted was to be held. My fiancee held him in his arms the whole time in the shelter while i signed all the paperwork to adopt him and pick up our cat. Then he carried him out to the car, where i sat in the back seat with him in my lap and my arm wrapped around him while i had my other hand inside of the cat carrier petting the kitty.
One of the best and happiest car rides ever. Our family became whole that day. ❤
