  1. Is it the same with tie rod it should be stiff in its ball joints ? Very recently went thru wreck and boot was torn on this part . I'm having trouble removing inner tie rod with OReillys rental tool . I've read the instructions and used the closest tightest size wrench adaptor and used the locing mechanism . Still no grip and slipping . Someone said heat it up because it might havew loctite ? Now thining maybe I dont need to replace tie rod just the boot . What do you think ?

  2. Great video, it’s a classic. I’m trying to determine if mine are good because if they are I probably won’t change them before I get an alignment (I did most of the front end minus the ball joints). I’ll have to buy new cotter pins for my steering knuckles if I go that route but that’s not a biggie.

  3. I just want to say I’m a 49 yr old female who likes to work on my own vehicles, I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for when I have an issue sometimes but your videos are VERY helpful and easy and clear to understand. You are my GO to from now on! Thank you for being so helpful.

  4. With ball joints, pay extra and get the oem ones. Aftermarket brands such a moog or others will require replacement again in a year or two

  5. Thanks so much for the great video!! Just a quick question, back in school shop class I was taught the same thing, but that on a solid rear axle on a rear-wheel-drive vehicle there is allowed a little bit of play as you pulling the axle shafts slightly in and out of the differential. Is this true? Is this also true for the front axle of 4 wheel drive vehicles? (Not
all wheel drive or front wheel drive)
    Thanks!

  6. Can this cause a popping noise when turning right? Especially hear it at like 10 mph or less turning right? It makes a clunking noise when I’m park and turn the steering wheel only 2” to right then back left? Noise gets constant the further I drive during the day when the temperature rises

  7. Where you from I see the rustiest cars on YouTube and I live in Oregon that it rains all the time but unless you live on the beach the cars here do not get rust

  8. GREAT VISUAL AID. JUST HAD A NEWLY SWAPPED 2019 PATHFINDER FROM NISSAN. "FRONT LINE READY" … YEAH OK!…. COMPLETELY MISSED BY THIER TECHS PASSENGER LOWER BALL JOINT FAILURE FOUND BY A VW TECH. WIERD THING WITH THIS WAS MADE NO NOISE. NO VIBRATION ON TEST DRIVE. BUT THE SYMPTOMS NOTICED WERE SIMILAR TO A BAD STEERING RACK OR SERVO. PATHFINDER HAS LANE ASSIST. SO VEHICLE WOULD DRIVE STRAIGHT WITH STEERING WHEEL 90 DEGREES OFF CENTER. THEN VIOLENTLY CORRECT TO CENTER WHILE JERKING VEHICLE OFF ROAD TO RIGHT. AND IT HAPPENED CONSISTANTLY EVERY TIME STEERING WAS ADJUSTED FOR TURNING OR CHANGING LANES… VERY WICKED DRIVING EXPERIENCE.. HAVING LANE ASSIST WITH FAULTY BALL JOINT. EASILY WOULD KILL A CUSTOMER. OR JUST THE GREATEST DRIVER ALERTNESS FEATURE IN HISTORY… NEW THING WITH CARS COMING OUT COMMON WITH NEWER TESLAS (JERKING THE WHEEL OR VIBRATING SEAT FEATURES) IN MY CASE IT TIGHTENED THE SPHINCTER SO BAD I SHAT DIAMONDS

  9. A friend and myself just replaced an upper and lower ball joint. after installing everything, we noticed there is a bit a play when test the tire movement at the 12 and six o clock. Any ideas?
