1. ADDIS ABABA
INTERVIEWEE: Abyenhe

🇪🇹INJERA: Begin by mixing teff flour and water, letting the mixture ferment for a day to prevent excessive sourness. Simultaneously, create maize dough for added softness and texture. Combine the two doughs and allow them to ferment for approximately 2 days. For cooking, apply gomenzera on the flat stove to clean it, then place the injera mix on the flattop briefly, typically for a few seconds, to achieve the desired result.

🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  1. As an Ethiopian this video don't represent the real truth. Ethiopia has the worst food ever. 😢😢 people barley eat 3 times a day. Food security is not guaranteed.

  2. I love it how you always find the shittiest place in the city! I am from Ethiopia and I have to say it makes me proud that despite Addis Ababa having so many modern and traditional well established places to eat you always go to the poorest part of town to get the "Authentic" experience. Nice!

  3. Have got achance of dating an Ethiopian lady and believe me they are so loving, soft bodies, the coffee is so good but i failed on the raw meat. I love the way they answer when you call them (weyeba habatte) 😂😂 is it the right spelling i dont know.

  4. I’m personally a big fan of raw meat especially beef, I got it from my mother who also liked to eat raw beef, who also got it from her father who liked raw meats. That’s as far back as I can confirm the preference but I’m sure it probably goes back further in my family tree

  5. I'm german and I love raw meat! I grew up eating Mett, which is minced raw pork and/or minced cow meat seasoned with salt and black pepper. Raw meat can be great and people are really missing out on these flavours. If you are scared I can tell you one thing – the inside of cow meat is always free of parasites. There are no parasites that can penetrate a cows skin more than a few milimetres. I hope I can try some more raw meats around the world. The horse sashimi in Japan is on my bucket list 🙂

  6. cool! Tatare seems a little similar than in Poland… tradicionally there is also at least 50ml of vodka served for every 100g of tatare… at least where I come from.

  7. Ethiopia is such an amazing country!!! Id give just about anything to go there! The people are super cool, the food is awesome, and the history is crazy cool, not to mention the girls are drop-dead beautiful!!! It's definitely one of my must-see countries.
