[GRAPHIC] Baby Seal with DEEP CUT rescued
Spread The Viralist

While doing a seal rescue, activists Antoine and Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia spotted a baby seal that was not able to waddle like the other seals at Pelican Point. They could see from far away that he had a deep cut, possibly caused by discarded fishing line, as many other entangled seals. He could not run fast, and Namib_Naude and Tony managed to catch him by his back flipper. After hundreds of successful seal rescues, this one still left them stunned. The fishing line had not only cut deep into his neck, it had also caused a severe injury to its right flipper.
Luckily they managed to cut him loose with our Leatherman raptor scissors, and the very relaxed animal could run off to the ocean, a lot easier than before.
A day later, they were lucky enough to spot the rescued seal again. His wound seems to be healing nicely, and his movement is much easier. His buddy stayed with him the whole time! 🦭
