2. The shoes in the trees in Walled Lake is a Michigan thing. Most towns had a shoe tree. High school graduates would throw shoes in a tree. Maybe not a thing now but was in the 80s and 90s.

16. In regards to John's story in the Nutty Putty cave… I've seen comments else where with people criticizing the rescue team for being too slow. Does anyone if that may be the case?

17. The last story I suspect the the vibrations are just bombing training exercises and maybe the cave collapsed on him due to the bombing runs or he just got lost and died of exhaustion

18. This might be a REALLY stupid question.. But couldn’t they take some tools in there and at least chisel at some of that rock to make a bigger opening so they could get John out? Some kind of electric tools and maybe take it bit by bit so it doesn’t crush him? I know that is probably beyond stupid to ask but that story is just so tragic and I wish they could have saved him.

23. For John's situation, i am not an expert, but by the picture, it seemed like there was plenty of space to work around with. I have construction background and ive seen people working in very tight spaces and even having to lie down and looking up drilling and cutting with cordless equipment.
    Ive also seen what water pressure and a suction equipment could do to the ground. I saw the full story, and it mentioned that hours before his death, all professionals had given up and had just told him while he was alive that that was gonna be his end. At that point, it shouldve been try everything else, even if it could cause him his death, he had a sure death anyways.
    Wouldve cut through rock and dirt with electrical equipment and water pressure and had a suction hose sucking everything while doing so and at the very end, i wouldve sedated his body so he would not feel much of the pain.
    Even putting him on a short coma, so he would stop breathing for a few minutes and let most of his air out and then just pull him the fuck out by force, even if that wouldve caused to skin him or break a couple of ribs.
    At the end of the day, that man would be alive with a bug scar on his chest
