MEET Wally – the 5ft, 60lb, federally-licensed emotional support alligator. Owned by Joie Henney, from Pennsylvania, Joie’s house boasts a variety of reptiles, ranging from bearded dragons to ball pythons. The reptile that steals the show, however, is the four-year-old Wally, who has a special place in Joie’s heart. Joie told Truly: “He’s far from a typical alligator, he loves cuddling and he loves giving kisses”. As well as having full run of the house, Wally is regularly taken out for walks to parks, malls and even restaurants.

  1. it really is amazing how human empathy is so vast that even animals evolved not to care about bonds with any other creature can become friends with us, at the absolute least its undeniable wally views him as something other than prey or a threat

  2. >federally licensed

There's no such thing as an "emotional support" animal. Service animals (either dogs or mini ponies are the only two service animals by federal law) aren't registered with either the federal or state governments either, they simply perform a function.

  3. Awww….Wally is so very cute and sweet alligator 🐊 He hugs people when he is being held up. How cute is that? Incredible story about a gentle, sweet, and lovable alligator. 4. while this is absolutely shocking i keep forgetting how common it is for seemingly dangerous animals forming bonds with humans. people form bonds with giant sharks, bears, other reptiles, animals are truly amazing creatures

  6. One Unexpected Bite. Chomp!! Bye Bye. It makes me wonder if it is possible for a wild animal to forget about the idea of biting though.
