YouTube’s Fake Animal Rescue Channels Exposed – This Needs to STOP

Description:

Let’s face it, during dark, stressful times, one of the most effective ways to restore our faith in humanityand get back into a more positive frame of mind is to watch animal rescue videos. These videos are sofull of hope that we always want to like and share them to fellow animal lovers and depressed
humans. Because, admit it, nothing melts your heart like seeing a small helpless animal getting saved from an abusive owner, the middle of nowhere, or a pit of tar to make us remember that there are still
people and organizations out there who do good deeds not for the likes or the money on Youtube, but out of the goodness of their hearts.
But before you hit that like or share button because your heartstrings twanged from all the goodness you’ve just been watching, stop and really watch that rescue video closely.

Why?
Because a series of fake animal rescue videos have recently been flooding YouTube and people are falling for these scams! Here’s an expose on these fakers.

  1. Sometimes an animal is seen inside a well or mud puddle. Some people are seen maneuvering the animal, making it suffer, but it is not seen getting it out of there. Then the animal is seen dry and clean in a house, but neither is it seen being washed. Many of those images are surely recorded before. And many of those recordings have surely left the animal trapped there after recording it. 😡😭😡😭😡😭

  2. How do you report them? Youtube just gives you generic choices to report that does not apply to the situation. Countless small kittens " rescued" from roadsides.

  3. This is two years old and youtube is STILL posting these bullsh*t videos. It's infuriating animal abuse, but all the gullible praise and fawn over them. Disgusting.

  4. The best way to tell is when it’s just the end result shown, or when it’s a shaky cam with awful image quality with no music or general… narrative.

I helped a bird a while back, big one, it wasn’t bloody, didn’t have a broken bone or wing, it was just a little dirty and ruffled up. It was a Lake Heron. Pretty much all that was wrong was it got its beak lodged in a rope from an anchor or something that slipped off a dock. I took a picture, showed it to the rv park staff who said they’d get animal control to help. Animal control was hours away so I went back to the RV, grabbed a shovel, walked back, moved a stone, dislodged a rope, got my thumb a bit too close to its beak so I could pull the rope off and… that was it, once it realized it was free it looked at me for a second or two and took off. I didn’t make sure my dad was filming, didn’t try to film it, i saw a living thing in need and did what was in my power to provide assistance. That is what animal rescue is supposed to be, not this staged money focused garbage

  5. The only animal channel I trust is the Dodo. Everything else is trash and untrustworthy. I stopped watching cute animal videos for fun because you never know when you'll come across deplorable shit passed off as "cute" or "wholesome", and people anthropomorphizing animals and misunderstanding animal behavior when it is the owners who are the problem. We seriously need some sort of middleman to approve this type of content.

  6. Ok so one of these videos is actually from a banned channel that does THIS but made only 2 and its that one of the thumbnail and I'm losing faith in humanity..

  7. Do you investigate the channels, or just post about ones you know really are fake? There's a rather new one called "paw squadron", they only rescue puppies, the pups all look pretty healthy when discovered, but maybe wet or dirty. They don't answer anyone's questions, they have almost a desperation about wanting donations, from a paypal, to bank transfer address, to donate button and extra thanks $ button. Everything about my spidey senses is just off about that channel. So yeah, not sure how to go about investigating them. I'm trying to compare puppies to see if they're used more than once and sites in backgrounds if they look familiar in more than a few. That's about all I know to do. Anyway, so a heads up to any animal lovers here.

  8. Ugh if you want fame post a regular cute cat or dog video like a normal person. Seriously, adorable pet videos are one of the few things that get more views on the internet than pornography.

  9. Could you please make another video about these fake rescue channels? I’ve came across at least 10 this week. It’s ridiculous how many of them exist. Something has to be done to stop them. The poor animals are suffering. They are also receiving donations that should be going to the legit organizations. It’s absolutely awful. Then whenever you look at the comments, almost all of the subs are praising them. Please do another video!!!

  10. I frequently get recommended videos from Pet rescue center, which looks like a fake animal rescue channel. It uses the same background music used by other fake animal rescue sites and mostly rescues puppies found in strange situations. I would expect to see rescues of a lot of adult dogs too in legit rescue channels. Please research the Pet Rescue Center channel and report it if you agree with my assessment…

  11. I thumb down your video.
Many puppies, kittens and other animals are being tortured, cut, wounded, strangled, drowned for views and clicks EVERY day for views and to make money under the protected wings of this platform. IF they are terminated by this platform, after MONTHS or YEARS of reporting….they come back with more channels….re-uploading their sh*t again. Tubers that are reporting or/and have playlists to WARN everybody are terminated right away, because it is NOT allowed to have playlists about a b u s e r s ! To make a JOKE about this topic is NOT DONE…! It makes you a LOW LIFE too!

  12. Thank you for this video. They are making new channels more than ever before now. How can Google allow this abuse? Google is situated in the US. Surely animal rights groups and others can do something about this. Google is providing a platform and even paying these abusers and profiting from this abuse themselves. There must be some law that can make Google stop publishing these videos, because Google obviously is not interested in stopping it. They are fully aware of the problem. Rightfully speaking only certified and genuine rescue organisations should be allowed post rescue videos. Others who want to rescue animals can do it without posting videos – surely animal rescues can happen without video filming and posting on youtube…… its so sad and heartbreaking to know that Google is not doing anything stop this abuse which can be easily stopped by just making it impossible for these scammers to post these fake rescue videos.
