  1. theory about the guy standing behind the man in red. Dude ducked because he wasn't supposed to be there and didn't wanna get caught? I've seen people dip in a photo like that when they didn't wanna get caught on social media.

  2. Right, ex-theatre member here. While I don't want to ruin anyone's immersion, here's an explanation for "ghastly faces" of TV staff members:
The make-up tone for theatre/tv are different from everyday make-up. In an usual stage performance/tv production you always have high contrast light beaming at you to highlight your facial features. So the stage make up is always a few tones darker, usually very vibrant but a bit darker colours like tones of red to make the actor look, well.., alive. In contrast, if you use usual everyday tone make up, especially in Japan where a fair skin tone is desired. People usually use a bright foundation with also brighter colour tones accessory make up. When you beam the person's face on stage, this gives a very pale sickly look instead, hence why the staff faces look like "ghost faces". Even without make-up, at times if the person is a bit sweaty, this might reflect the stage lights as well to give the ghastly pale effects. So yes, this is why we wear make-up regardless of gender when we perform, so we don't look like a bunch malnourished ghastly people running around on stage 😅

  3. The first one I can 100% explain. See, what happened was…what went down is…Yeah that is just some chick chillin' in the background, either a crew member, or a member of the public, depending on where and how they shot it, and it made it all the way to air because the editors did notice her, and saw it was just some chick chillin' in the background not harming the scene in any way, and if it isn't someone put there on purpose to add the feel of a public bus stop, then her just chillin' in the background adds to the authentic feel of a bus stop, well, because it's just an authentic chick chillin' in the background, minding her own and people be trippin' over nothing. DAYum! Yall calm down, now, ya hear! Lol

  4. The clown looks like an actual serial killer from the 80 or 70s. I don't remember his name but he killed a lot of people, mainly boys and men.

  5. regarding the woman on the road, i'm not japanese so idk if things are different there but my family is from a rural area, living in farms, no streetlights and stuff, and everyone gets around just fine at night??? people are used to the lack of lights so it's not uncommon for people to just go places without a flashlight or anything. even i myself find it easier to walk around without using a flashlight, just letting my eyes adjust to the moonlight, because then i can see further than my flashlight can illuminate and there are fewer dark corners

  6. The variety show is one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. It’s like something you’d hear about in a Creepypasta, but the recording is real!

  7. When you are just a girl with rare skin condition trying to make a living as a production staff, and people started calling you a ghost.

  8. These compilations really helps. I like to binge watch them while I do something else 🙂
Also damn those merch illustrations are gorgeous but sadly I can't buy them yet

  9. I've never caught an errant senior citizen on my dashcam, but I did once catch a taxi driver having a poo behind his vehicle on a busy main road.

  10. Okay, hear me out: my uncle worked for Sony's audio division and apparently, misprinting CDs and DVDs with "prank" audio or video was a common trend among certain employees. Now, these misprints were never meant to be sold to the public as they were only distributed among other employees as part of the many CDs and DVDs they were allowed to keep, they were labeled with a massive "not for sale or resale" sticker.

  11. It was feelings gremlins, like the one from that bugs bunny cartoon that keep destroying the airplane 😂 also, it's funny how pale skin is both revered and feared!

  12. after what was proven about the evil farming game, i no longer trust "i remember it went exactly like xyz" when they might be remembering playing a video game but turns out it was some livestreamer just joking about it and the game doesn't even exist. even though i had my own personal search for a book for almost 10 years and ended up finding it and it turned out it was real but i only remembered like 5% of it. yes these things are often real but i think it's very possible a lot of these are just fever dreams of some kind

  13. Geez, people are very superstitious about these "cursed" videos; kind of strange. Also, I'd be more concerned about a virus or data breach clicking on cursed videos, maybe that is the real curse?! I misheard you when you said someone posted a car dash cam video – I was thinking a Kardashian video….. doh!

  14. A very similar story to the story about the CD from 1990 happened to my younger cousin a few Christmases ago. He got a Hamilton CD as a present, it looked like it and the case checked out too. But when he went to play it, it was country music. We all laughed because we though that the people at Amazon burned the wrong music onto what was supposed to be a Hamilton CD. It was the holidays and they were probably swamped with orders.

  15. A possible explanation for the White Shadow People PSA and why people claim to have seen it as early as the 1980s and as late as the 90s. This ad was made before digital devices, when making visual media was more costly in terms of editing and processing, so companies and networks tended to keep and re-use recorded footage to cut costs and get the most out of the money they invested into making the recording. Everyone seems to agree that this ad is some kind of PSA and that it was shown in schools at some point, here's what I think happened. I think a PSA was made by a company, possibly AC, in the early 1980s and was test screened in rural areas of Japan, but the response was so negative that it was never broadcast nation-wide. The PSA was probably shelved for a while before eventually being sold as teaching material for Japan's public school system where it was shown to elementary students in the 90s. But this means there's good chance that some schools that have old teaching materials in storage may still have copies of the actual PSA if anyone wanted to go and look for them.

  16. Everything I have learned about Japanese mysteries include a pale person with long black hair. I am seriously going to tell my husband to get a job as a creepy ghost in Japan, just the pop up in the most random places..

ps. I wonder how those people would react to our PSAs, especially from the 80s..

  17. Revisiting some old videos from this compilation – the Mystery Midnight Video really makes me hope that someone was running tape every night and has a huge collection of those shorts

  18. ghosts don't have shadows.. ethereal life forms do exist, but they don't have physical attributes.
i believe in the spirits world, but anything that has a "physical" body is not a ghost.
