  1. What a beautiful fur baby Mayvn is – inside and out. A Pox on whoever had this poor girl before you, and hurt her so badly that she wanted to stay in a cage. Truly sickening! Thank You for giving her the time to start to heal and to know she finally found her Hoomans who will love her and give her the best life, AND a fur sibling to run, play and dog with.

  2. To people who abuse innocent dogs and make them like Mayvn:
You best not run into me in a dark alley if I know who you are
I have adopted 2 rescues and the second one, Gracie, was also completely terrified. It broke my heart.
It took me a couple of weeks to completely earn her trust and she is now incredibly clingy on me! No matter where I am she has to be near, or in my lap, or cuddled on my neck in bed. She needs constant reassurance that she is now loved and she returns it ten fold.
In the beginning she was terrified of my hands and feet, meaning she was severely abused in her past life. She is (we think) a Dachsund and Terrier mix, and is now the sweetest and most loving dog I could imagine.
When I picture someone hitting and kicking her…I am actually ashamed of the fantasies I have about what would happen should I meet that person/those people.

  3. @1:47 "look at me, i chewed up something and made a mess! arent you proud of me mom!!"

nice job with her turnaround, she's your friend for Life!

  4. I come from an abusive home to where I was punished just for speaking. It is sooooo hard to learn to trust people, but once you do (the right people), you're all in.

  5. I love it when people will go that extra mile to help a animal that’s been mistreated and then to get them a support friend.
I grew up with cats and dogs all my life, I do gravitate to cats simply because I don’t have the energy any more for a dog, as much as I would love to have both, dogs are such hight maintenance for someone who is not able-bodied enough for them I use to look after a friends dog for a long time until it got to the point I was just worn out after just 5 minutes of play with her.
The neighbours dog comes around every other day to visit me to make sure I’m okay and also to get his hugs and grooming in 😹😹 we now have a routing of doing one section of him at a time and as soon as I start feeling tired he hops up head buts me and then runs home😹😹😹
Having a sometimes dog is just enough for me😹😹😹for some reason the cats and dogs seem to like visiting my place all the time even though I have 5 cats who live in and around in the house or under the house.

  6. I’ve watched so many rescue videos. It’s heart wrenching. We adopted a stray from Mississippi and he is the absolutely most spoiled lil man on the planet. As it should be.

  7. One thing that opens up a scared dog quickly is to sit on the floor and eat with them, while they eat dog food you eat a bowl of chicken or beef soup and hold your bowl next to theirs and laddle over a few spoons of soup into their food. In dog language you are sharing your kill. Also if you eat a bologna sandwich or a hotdog break off a piece and give it to her in her food bowl. This can quickly open a dog up. Dogs can be possessive of food so do not take food out of their bowl.

  8. Not to "Learn to trust" (like it's an irrational thing)…to "have a reason to trust" (like it's a rational thing). Stop blaming the dog.
