Rescue parrot Jack – hates men – including 28-year-old Lorna Webb’s dad Scott, 66, who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Former taxi driver Scott was diagnosed with COPD in 2008 and the damage to his lungs is irreversible.

How do we know it's "making fun" and not just picking up on noises? Maybe the noise grouping that sounds to us like I love you is actually her mocking them, because people say it when they leave, while that that coughing sound is telling her family she loves them. (Because she sees her mom/owner comfort granddas when he coughs too hard?)

Maybe she thinks that her “granddad” was hurting her “mom” because he contracted something that he could spread to everyone else? Her “mom” should explain to her that her “granddad” cannot spread COPD and is not hurting anyone.

I'm not making fun of the copd. I have it, but I also had an African Grey and I am laughing at the bird. You may hear his "coughing" for 32 years or more.
I would love to hear my grandma, even her coughing.
