A pup named Harvey was at a San Diego, California, shelter for six months, and no one would adopt him. Harvey’s looks were working against him. The Husky has a facial deformity and a crooked smile, and animal shelter staff overheard people calling him ‘ugly.’ After seeing their post, Sherry Lankston fell in love. The only problem was she and her family lived 2,600 miles away near Seattle, Washington. So she packed up the car and took a road trip. She shared her story with Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall.

  1. Some people have opinions? I've come across people who travel across the pacific ocean to the philippines just to get a dog or cat than bring that animal back to the states. If people see it as a problem traveling 2000+ miles you have serious issues. Here in the Philippines its massive honor and respect for a foreigner to come from a different country just to get a pet and bring back to there country.

  2. Last year i drive one hour from carrollton to caddo mills to adopted a five year old husky and my mom did not like it ☠ so I had to let it go.

  5. I think his so-called deformity makes him cute and special. Good for you for giving him a loving forever home. Nothing ugly about him to me. You have at least one person on your side.

  6. I love this story! Nobody was giving this dog even a play date. But this lady was willing to go 2600 miles to give him a home and a family. Just a wonderful person with a great heart ❤️!
