Heavy snowfall and high winds created dangerous conditions in parts of Oswego, New York as a gust of arctic air swept through the region. This video showing the snow flurry was filmed by Nicholas Cusano, who said he captured it in Oswego. The National Weather Service has warned residents that the explosion in the Arctic will bring heavy snowfall and wind gusts of more than 40 miles per hour. A cold snap warning has been issued and the National Weather Service has urged locals to stay home overnight as temperatures are expected to drop significantly.

Winter storm warnings were in effect in more than half a dozen states earlier this week, especially in parts of the northeast where tens of thousands of people were left without power.
“We have two storm systems that will affect the country this week,” a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
One system set up over the southwest on Monday before becoming a large-scale winter storm system and lashing out over the southern plains on Tuesday, Clements said.
The storm is expected to hit the central, southern, and eastern US midweek with a variety of hazards, including a snow streak and severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall.
More Winter Storm Warnings: A winter storm warning extends from New Mexico through Texas, Oklahoma, and into the Midwest.
Meanwhile, parts of New England were covered in snow on Monday.
