4. I’ve read bits about these Islands a while back . . There are 18 main islands . The islands are between Iceland and Scotland in the Atlantic Ocean . They even have their own airline called ‘ Atlantic Airways ‘! There’s a direct flight which takes an hour from Edinburgh , Scotland , to the airport on Vagar Island . The history is really interesting ( If you like history ! ) . The first inhabitants were Irish monks! . The Faroese were colonised by the Vikings . Then the Norwegians took over and the Islands became a Norwegen province . The islands are now a self-governing region within the Danish state . Faroe means ‘Sheep Islands ‘ . Although these days the economy relies mainly on fish . They export a lot of cod . The language they speak is Faroese. They have their own currency which is Krona . They even have their own university ! The islands naturally don’t have trees! . (Although some trees have been planted )
   Interesting people and Islands . It would be great to visit one of the main islands! 💖💚

16. I think this honestly might be the best display of elegance that BEFRS has offered so far. You guys went in and didn't hide any of the ugliness, but you also accurately showed why that's the way it is.

    It definitely changed my perspective on the Faroe Islands.

22. While we shouldnt forget traditions of our ancestors we should teach instead of slaughter. Civilization has progressed enough to pick and choose.
    We dont need to eat whale when there are alternative proteins a plenty. Mass reproduction of cod is highly sustainable for the Fi.. I can live with that while respecting other views on the barbaric practice. Conversation about history and progress is good.

43. I received my DNA tests results, I was shocked to see that 1/2 of my DNA originated from the Faroe Islands ,,, Now I want to visit & see where my ancestors are from, & how they lived.
