Romanian speedway rider Eugen Botezatu was seriously injured in an accident which occurred during a race on the speedway track IPA Sibiu, in Romania.
Botezatu was involved in a three-bike collision in the first turn and crashed. He was conscious when he was rescued, but his conditions later worsened. He was hospitalized for a long period, before he succumbed to his injuries.
Date of accident and date of death are still uncertain. It happened in 1987.
Since several years after his death, the FRM Federaţia Română de Motociclism have organized the annual “Eugen Botezatu Memorial Race” in his honor.

I can't stand how people all crowd around a victim the way they do. Most of them don't even know first aid or how to help, but they just want a front row seat. If you can't help, get away from the poor victim.

I guess he passed in hospital.Its a good life racing ,sometimes one must pay the high price.Its fairly horrible to think some fans salivate at the prospect of seeing a crash.People are strange.
So sad, he was alive after the accident, the fact the video camera was so close made it more tragic for me to watch
