So today Craig is going to look at political ideology in America. We’re going to focus on liberals and conservatives and talk about the influencers of both of these viewpoints. Now, it’s important to remember that political ideologies don’t always perfectly correspond with political parties, and this correspondence becomes less and less likely over time. So, sure we can say that Democrats tend to be liberal and Republicans tend to be conservative, but we’re not going to be talking about political parties in this episode. It’s also important to note, that there are going to be a lot of generalizations here, as most peoples’ ideologies fall on a spectrum, but we’re going to try our best *crosses fingers* to summarize the most commonly held viewpoints for each of these positions as they are used pretty frequently in discussions of American politics.

Better to say Leftist than liberal. A true classical liberal believes in the Rule of Law, Free Markets, and Individual Freedom.
Interesting video. As an artist I have taken a different approach and post videos of random people I have interviewed asking them to describe the US political system. It is called the Triptych Dialogue. Rather than show images of people I use an abstract art visual for a background so that viewers can concentrate on the audio responses. What do you think?
I think you should have mentioned that modern liberalism in the United States is a form of social liberalism.
Not American but I loved this video. Thank you ๐
Iโm not religious at all, but I consider myself conservative. Iโm 100% pro choice when it comes to all health or personal decisions tho.
Abcdef
You should turn off the comments next time you talk about political ideology
Conservatism no longer stands for this when you build walls and have more weapons bans under trump than obama but ok.
why you americans have no labour party? thats just stupid, if your going to be polarized you should have conservatives vs labour, democrats are just the centrists that give poor people lip service while holding up the neo liberal world order
Way too confusing
I have so little knowledge on politics, this was super helpful!
americans
Politics are weird af
This comment will be a little biased (as I am left-leaning) but I think that one of the reasons people tend to dislike conservatives is because they come off as self-centered people that entrust god with everything and don't really care to listen and analyze other people's ideals.
In order to achieve equality we can't ignore that there are such differences. We need to realize these disparities exist and try to work together in order to fix them. We can't ignore the differences between black and white people, between men and women and between LGBT members and straight people. We need to acknowledge these differences and do everything we can to make sure everyone can live the life they wish and that they aren't discriminated for it.
That is why we aren't going anywhere with either communism or fascism. We need to find a good balance to make things work.
I know it is easier said then done, but we need to start small and grow from there.
Conservatives value liberty and liberals values no-liberty.. Something is odd
Big respect so much propaganda out there nice to see some unbiased political ideas
Historically republicans were the progressives fighting against slavery and the right to vote for people of color
Liberals say they value equality yet aren't economically aware enough to recognize capitalism as the source of inequality in our world
Mmmm bias
Me,watching this.
So what's the answer?
I know a lot of student's watching this to answer their module.
Beat the bald eagle ๐ฆ I guess this guy also burn America flag and support ANTIFA. Whatโs wrong with American education system?
Who else sees the irony in contrasting "Growing up during FDR's Presidency" and "Reagan"?
