  1. We had a tornado warning up I'm Northern California. I refused to leave and have my horses die in it. I stayed behind. No tornado ever came through. Thank GOD. I said " If Sally (my mare) goes up in a tornado, then I'm going with her! "

  2. I can't belive how people just leave their pets… Why didn't they even try to take them with them ~ they say their apart of the Family BUT NOPE they just thought about themselves "THEY DON'T DESERVE THEM BACK"…
GETS ME UPSET THAT PEOPLE CAN DO THINGS LIKE THAT, THAN TURN AROUND AN ACT LIKE THEY ARE THE VICTIMS IN THIS MATTER… BUTTS ANYWAY!!!

  3. The pets shipped to other shelters are ones who were already there before the storm. They move them out to make room for all the incoming pets from the storm. Then they contact owners and get them back with their families. And they wait longer to find families then they normally do, before adopting out the pets. So, if you are not in FL and adopt a 'Hurricane Ian' cat or dog, just know they were homeless/abandoned before the storm.

  4. Glad to see pets being saved, and others have commented… hopefully they can be reunited with their owners! 🤗

As for alligators, looks like it might "open season time" to thin the herd?! 😉

  5. I am sorry but would never ever leave my pets behind. I was living in Naples FL in 2005 right after Katrina. Hurricane Wilma was to hit Naples bulls eye. So my family that lived there too said just leave your cats there and they will be ok while we were going to south beach to get away from Wilma (Cat 3). I looked at them like they were crazy. I had my own vehicle and stayed one across from the ocean while they stayed on the beach. I have never been so terrified. Had 2 cats and 2 dogs. My sister called around 6:15 am said it's coming. It went straight across from Naples to Miami. This is the 1 st time my animals were so terrified they got in there crates. If i feel it's not safe for me then it's not safe for my animals. The everglades was the next stop after leaving my residence. Not sure what people are thinking. Just saw on tv that all these pets left behind due to Ian. If they are not going to be loyal owners and be prepared and to keep your pets safe and fed then u don't need to sign up to receive a pet. A pet is a lifetime commitment. Just like babies and children. Very disturbing. Just like some people did not leave their residence. Duh! SMH. I have no pity for ignorance. The hurricane center was not for sure anything. Like I told my sister that lives in Naples you are not safe anywhere in FL. The response I got was " we have a generator a pool an umbrella. I told them u r getting ready to get more pools. They have been thru alot of hurricanes in the last 25 years. They said never ever again will they stay and ride the storm. They have never seen so much devastion. Take care of your pets

  6. Awe its so sad to always see the majority of dogs in shelters are Pit Bulls, or pittie mixes =( They are some of the sweetest dogs (IF they have the right owner) I wish I could adopt one of them! They are so beautiful!!!
