  1. Interesting story, my great-grandmother was actually alive during the time this happened. And on the day after it happened, She read about it in the newspaper.

  2. We SHOULD be using hydrogen to run internal combustion engines today because it's the single most abundant element in the universe, it's "waste" product from combustion is that horrid element dihydrogen monoxide, what we generally call pure water. Because we use safe, non-radioactive thorium salt fueled reactors separating it by the megaton and they can't give it away. It would run home appliances as well. Doesn't produce dangerous combustion by products. Alas, politicians…

  3. My mother and grandparents followed the Hindenberg to Lakehurst, NJ, by car. Mom, 4 years old, and Grandmom, late in her pregnancy, were behind the fence holding hands when it exploded. My grandmother fainted. Both remembered it extreme well! I inherited a small piece of it. My grandmother gave birth a bit early and was in the hospital with survivors. They went to the 50th anniversary of it. My mother kept a correspondence up with one of the boys who survived for 70 or 80 years until he passed. His ?sister was pushed out of the side to get her out of the fire but died from the fall. Very tragic day!

  4. I know we live in a sensitive time but history happened. If the history Channel is explaining history they shouldn't be afraid to show history. The photo of a barely off the ground hindenburg on the show looked different in the tail area so I went back out of curiosity. Was this a company sign or logo I'd missed before? No, the show blurred the tail flags. For what? You can go to the internet and see clearly.
What other stories are mostly told?

  5. The first instance of video proof instead of speculation. Even though they edited the video to not show the blimp landing on the people on the ground and people jumping from the airship.

  6. Well done fellows!!
Whoever could've imagined floating a line up into electrically charged skies would likely create a hot circuit. Benjamin Franklin. Very good job 572% indeed all around.

  7. My mother was born in 1911. During WW1 – at the age of 5 – she watched a burning German zeppelin over the town of Hartlepool in the NE of England. The airship was shot down and crashed into the ground, killing the crew

  8. Observing the way the Hindenberg burned proves it was NOT Filled with "Hydrogen". Hydrogen, or so the "gas" is named, Explodes Violently, it does Not Burn as Shown!
True science might say it was a "lesser-hydrogen", or a lesser explosive hydrogen gas. When researched, it seems the many types of Hydrogen gas are all explosive, they simply dont burn as in the film.

  9. IF they had helium back then, that would have never happened. Hydrogen is a very dangerous gas. I used to drive 18 wheelers with loads of Hydrogen cylinders at times and I would go to west Texas to have them filled and I couldn't come back in the daytime during summer because if there was a leak in the valve of any of the 400 cylinders, it would be an invisible flame of fire, so I had to wait till night when it was under a hundred degrees.

  10. It's like a moment in history to get Internet to think about all the blimps that we're playing around for so long and that probably flew right into a church as a hanger and then it tattered to the spire of the top of the peak of the towers that were so much higher.

  11. I just want to know, since we have footage of the disaster, why you didn't use it to create your video renders of it! The images you keep showing if the airship burning is not even close to what happened based on the ACTUAL footage. The skill of the Hindenberg rippling is so absolutely wrong that it is cringeworthy to watch, the flames exploding from the front at the beginning of the event are totally wrong, what the heck are you doing? You are certainly not even close to the whole premise of I WAS THERE!!!!!

  12. Flying people around in giant flammable balloons was one of the most brain dead ideas man ever had it was amazing that dident happen much sooner than it did

  13. Hindenberg was done on purpose just like the Titanic, the people responsible their children are the evil that's continuing their quest to take over the world with the New World Order BS!!!

  14. I don’t know about this. I’ve been shocked by static electrical from a canopy of a F-18 before. It would always happen an cold dry days…….. never in rain………

  15. Wow, it went up amazingly fast. Makes sense. That had to be incredible witnessing it first hand right there like that. The heat must have been intense. Was interesting to watch. Great video
