DHAKA, BANGLADESH – Probably one of the most popular and loved foods of Bangladesh is kacchi biryani. Itโs truly a demonstration of the incredible flavor and diversity of ingredients and spices used in Bangladeshi food. Today we have the special opportunity to see Bengali kacchi biryani made from start to finish, all the way from fresh goat to plate.
Tajine – Nawabi Cuisine (https://goo.gl/maps/mLWGG5Ndarm8MWf68) – Thank you to Tajine restaurant in Dhaka for making this happen. Their hospitality shined and thanks to them for arranging this incredible experience, being able to see the entire process. Chef is originally from Old Dhaka and brought 30 years of biryani making experience. He could literally make biryani with his eyes closedโฆ not recipes, just his experience and knowledge of the ingredients. There were at least 18 spices, more like 30 ingredients all together, all layered and placed strategically for flavor. Chef making kacchi biryani was one of the most amazing recipes Iโve ever seen.
While the kacchi biryani was cooking, his brother in law made chicken pulau, another Bangladeshi food that eaten during celebrations and special occasions. Unlike kacchi biryani, the pulao is milder in spice, but more creamy and milky. Again it was an amazing recipe, the spices and ingredients, and the order and method in which it was assembled.
Three or four hours after we started, the Bangladeshi kacchi biryani was ready. The rice was unbelievably fragrant and flurry, and melted in your mouth. The spices were perfect, a harmony of flavor out of control. The fresh goat was so tender it collapsed on your fingers. It was literally a perfect biryani and one of the best versions of biryani Iโve ever had in my life – kacchi biryani!

U sud eat more traditional food in Bangladesh like pitha, vorta, mach torkari, vaja mach, sobji vaji sada vat and all street food, jhalmuri fuchka, velpuri
I am Bangladeshi,,, my countryโs & all muslim countries foods are always too much good & delicious..
I was in coxโs bazaar for 1 month due to work . I ate the briyani there . The texture and colour of the briyani was different . The food scene there is not that happening but the seafood there is definitely affordable
Probably if i ate the briyani in Dhaka or Chittagong , it would be different .
No doubt it is Biryani # 1.

You can also try famous "Matrivander' sweet from Cumillla if you are still in Bangladesh. The sweet makers might be in their 3rd or 4th generation and it is popular in this subcontinent since British period.
Btw this Kacchi looks okay and I don't know about taste, but there are few places in Dhaka where you will find better Kacchi. You won't forget the flavor once you have them.

Bangldesh is a food loverโs paradise. Itโs not only biriyani brother its much more then that, Donโt mis Sharse illish, Aam katla, Tengrar Jhal, Bhuna Kichdi and list never ends… What else? Beautiful landscape, greenery, sea beaches and above all people with golden heart. Most loveable country on earth. I wish I could visit Bangladesh someday.
