I’m Team Johnny but this was a big L from him.
I have been trying to track everything, I guess I can say that these texts are very disturbing and should not have been sent. But… If I look at it from a different perspective, usually when you are abused, sometimes it is just passive. You don't see it coming but it hits you in the back of your head. Things could've been difficult from the beginning but he was in denial of every problems. This is what my explanation to the people objecting that he married her even after thinking these thoughts.
He did not actively felt this abuse and was suffering passively. and boy that drinking and drugs didn't help.
Now you seeing these texts. Some of the people are over the top on the way he describes the corpse rape, but being under the passive abuse and in the disadvantage of drinking, I think he every day soberly thinks he was the problem and denying any flaws in amber. once he get's drunk, he loses all control and says stuff like this. I guess this is how close we can get on understanding how he got himself into saying these things.
I also saw on how it was made cleared that he used to get away from a heated confrontation with amber and calm himself down with his guitar.
This doesn't gives him an excuse to think these thoughts. But from what it seems, these texts looks nothing more than just empty shots on letting himself counter the subconsciously felt abuse and when he get's sober, he regrets everything and blames himself on the matters.

What you say to another person to vent as long as you never act on it shouldn’t be taken into consideration in a character study like this. He has no evidence of hitting her, she hit him. Unless they both hit each other or someone’s trying to waive responsibility due to mental issues it’s irrelevant I feel.

i have been in a relationship with someone like amber heard and i literally have had these types of conversations with peers. like they make you so angry, and i’m sure he meant in a jokingly way. like i joke about how i want to see my ex burning alive! but OF COURSE i don’t!!!! it feels good to vent like that. plus he was doing bad mentally.
