  3. Lesson #1 Thank God for your life. Lesson #2 The Surbu RN 50 Sucks! Lesson #3 Don't shoot ammo unless you know what it is.

  4. .50 Cal Since 1918 it is an American Tradition.. 100 years used by the US Military, longest serving Caliber, all branches, ..Heavily deployed and relied on, & dominate till this day..
When SHTF.. you want a 50 on your team. Just one can turn a battle. Tree of Liberty.. Sons of Liberty.

  5. I don’t know you brother, but I thank God that you survived this. This was hard to watch because of something I remember from my past. I hope you stay well from here on out. I mean that.

Edit:This brought tears to my eyes and I’m not ashamed.

  6. Leftover project eldest son ammunition. I think if that rifle hadn't been built So well, it would have killed you. You pointed out a Hot Load just before the Killer. Possibly it created some micro fissures in the threading, allowing the breach to fail on the next hot shot. This is a great example of why we STAND BEHIND THE SHOOTER! Had someone been standing right beside you, they may have been injured or killed as well..!

  7. This is was a crazy accident, we're all just glad you're okay. Don't feel bad about this.
We all seen this exact happen to Wil-e-Coyote before, you are not alone. The Road Runner is who invented slap rounds.

  8. Hey man, almost a year later, and I'm glad you're still kicking. Something I think might have contributed to the explosion is the nature of the SLAP cartidge. When the shell which stabilizes the SABOT is fired, it expands and shells away from the projectile, since it is no longer needed to keep it full calibur for the bore. If you field a muzzle break with it, it has a high likelihood to expand on that first baffle, (and each baffle after that,) and cause what happened to you. On the M2A1 .50 cal machine guns, we don't use breaks for this exact reason for those SLAP rounds, just flash hiders. Similarly, on the M1 Abrams, and now retired Stryker MGS, they use a 105 and 120mm SABOT shell, and so also don't have breaks attached.

I could be off just a bit, but this is from my experience as a Cavalry scout gunner for 6 years, and Master Gunner experience. If someone has more experience than me, or can validate what I'm saying, please let me know.
