The vets and keepers at IAR Indonesia’s rescue centre work extremely hard to care for over 100 rescued orangutans in need.
Helping to save this fragile species from extinction is very expensive, whether it’s through repopulation strategies like our surrogacy program, the rescues or the day-to-day treatment and rehabilitation, every step is vital and costly. But it is all worth it to succeed in the long-term aim of one day releasing the orangutans back into the rainforest, where they belong!
