Flash floods most often occur in dry areas that have recently received precipitation, but they may be seen anywhere downstream from the source of the precipitation, even many miles from the source. In areas on or near volcanoes, flash floods have also occurred after eruptions, when glaciers have been melted by the intense heat. Flash floods are known to occur in the highest mountain ranges of the United States and are also common in the arid plains of the Southwestern United States. Flash flooding can also be caused by extensive rainfall released by hurricanes and other tropical storms, as well as the sudden thawing effect of ice dams. Human activities can also cause flash floods to occur. When dams fail, a large quantity of water can be released and destroy everything in its path. The United States National Weather Service gives the advice “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” for flash floods; that is, it recommends that people get out of the area of a flash flood, rather than trying to cross it. Many people tend to underestimate the dangers of flash floods. What makes flash floods most dangerous is their sudden nature and fast-moving water. A vehicle provides little to no protection against being swept away; it may make people overconfident and less likely to avoid the flash flood. More than half of the fatalities attributed to flash floods are people swept away in vehicles when trying to cross flooded intersections. As little as 2 feet (0.61 m) of water is enough to carry away most SUV-sized vehicles. The U.S. National Weather Service reported in 2005 that, using a national 30-year average, more people die yearly in floods, 127 on average, than by lightning , tornadoes , or hurricanes In deserts, flash floods can be particularly deadly for several reasons. First, storms in arid regions are infrequent, but they can deliver an enormous amount of water in a very short time. Second, these rains often fall on poorly absorbent and often clay-like soil, which greatly increases the amount of runoff that rivers and other water channels have to handle. These regions tend not to have the infrastructure that wetter regions have to divert water from structures and roads, such as storm drains, culverts, and retention basins, either because of sparse population or poverty, or because residents believe the risk of flash floods is not high enough to justify the expense. In fact, in some areas, desert roads frequently cross a dry river and creek beds without bridges. From the driver’s perspective, there may be clear weather, when a river unexpectedly forms ahead of or around the vehicle in a matter of seconds.[8] Finally, the lack of regular rain to clear water channels may cause flash floods in deserts to be headed by large amounts of debris, such as rocks, branches, and logs. Deep slot canyons can be especially dangerous to hikers as they may be flooded by a storm that occurs on a mesa miles away. The flood sweeps through the canyon; the canyon makes it difficult to climb up and out of the way to avoid the flood. For example, a cloudburst in southern Utah on 14 September 2015 resulted in 20 flash flood fatalities, of which seven fatalities occurred at Zion National Park when hikers were trapped by floodwaters in a slot canyon. here in south america we blame all this climate change and covid pandemic to the U.S as a way to avoid having to become broke when the day it has to pay for it's unpayable debt comes (wich we are close to that day) and this is how it works:
1) first of all they send coups and puppet leaders to many countries, once these puppets takes power they will do anything in their power to keep our countries as poor as they can, closing many local companies, fueling inflation, letting as much people as they can to die by covid and lastly they took a giant debt with the IFM for reasons that i will explain later.
2) the U.S government proceeds to order their puppets to burn as much forests and jungles they can to cause an environmental disaster like what happened in the argentinian patagonia, rainforest amazonas of brasil and colombia, turkey, greece, etc.
3)using bombs in the antarctica to broke a giant piece of it and more bombs underwater to provoke tsunamis and earthquakes all around the world.
4) once all of this is done they will try to create a law where they exchange debt for saving the environment of our world, is it very likely that many countries will refuse this law since it benefits the U.S in many ways but since the U.S government already sent coups to many countries to keeps them in debt with the IMF these countries will side with the U.S so their debt will be condomed in exchange of saving the environmenrt.
5) once all of this has been done the U.S could send humanitarian help countries like haiti and other while presenting itself as the country that saved the world from climate change but in reality is a facade to keep meddling in other countries and keep invading and robbing others.
basically what the U.S is saying with this plan is "IF I FALL THEN ALL OF YOU WILL FALL WITH ME!" some people might think this is dumb conspiracy theory but after all the things we suffer the south americans from the U.S government this looks more and more plausible each day.
The reasons of this global climate change were discussed at the International online conference "Global crisis. It already affects everyone", organized by volunteers from 180 countries. We are living in the period of 12000 year climate change cyclicity. And to survive and give a chance our grandchildren to be born we, all people, must help one another and become one Humanity, one family, one Creative Society.
Gosh the person running in front of and beside the sudden debris flow are just idiots. No other word for it. Water like this is deadly. The rescuer caught in the water. Kept his wits about him and escaped the flow. Respect to his colleague who tried a dangerous rescue attempt.
It's weather, NOT climate. Climate is the statistical expression of a series of weather data over a standardized period of time. What we see here, is for the most part the effect of atmospheric cooling due to reduced solar activity.
