Loreta was quick here and managed to avoid a bite, but in two days, I will post a video where she wasn’t that lucky and was bitten TWICE – I will post it here: https://www.HopeForPaws.org ❤️

When we got a text on the #HopeForPaws emergency line, we headed out to rescue #Arnold. It’s important to understand that dogs like him don’t usually leave the shelters alive… the system doesn’t have the resources to provide the support system that a dog like him needs.

After ruling out a medical issue, Arnold continued to our friends at #FoxyAndTheHounds where Terri Fox had to teach him how to love all over again. She did a great job and she really turned him around! She then did something even more amazing, but you’ll have to watch until the end 🥰

There are many more dogs for adoption on their website: https://www.FoxyAndTheHounds.org

I just spoke to Loreta and she asked if there is any way for her to text our subscribers… she wants to send a message to everybody. I told her that every person who signs up here will get her text: https://www.HopeForPaws.org/Join

Thank you so much for watching our videos! Tomorrow I will post another video 😉

  1. THANK YOU for pointing out that flooding is not a bad thing!!! (if done correctly)
There are too many uneducated people who think that dogs will be traumatised by the smallest of stress. It's so ridiculous.
Which do you think is better? Making the dog scared for a few minutes but getting happy within a few days, or zero scaring the dog but taking months to get the same results? Not all dogs have the luxury of months (or even days) to recover before their time is up and they get put to sleep. When we were kids and went to school, we hated tests and homework, but did it traumatise us? Heck no. Let's get real, people.

Robert Cabral is a popular Youtube dog trainer, and he worked with shelter dogs for 12 years, and he says that purely positive doesn't work. Sometimes dogs need a bit of pressuring to move forward in life, just like us.
Joel Beckman used to be an orca trainer, and when he began dog training, he started out with purely positive because that's how you train marine mammals. He quickly realised that purely positive doesn't work on dogs, and instantly changed to a balanced trainer.

  2. Thank you so much Hope for Paws Arnold is such a 🐶 good boy 🦮thank you for loving and adopting her🥰🙏🙏💕🌹🌈💗🦮God Blessed to all 🥰🙏🙏🌈🌟

  3. Arnold looks so much like our rescue dog Kirby…they may be related, except Kirby is only about 6 yrs old. My brother found him in Montebello about 3 years ago. Too bad you're wearing those Great Reset compliance muzzles; but you're still awesome for saving all of those dogs and others. Thank you always. And please remember that all animals deserve our kindness.

  4. People who have seen even a few of your videos should have known you guys know what you are doing with the dogs, especiallly those traumatized, and should not have been so judgemental and sent unkind messages.
Seeing the videos people should know you guys are very good with the dogs and helping them get over trauma and move on to happiness and finding happy homes.
People just need to trust and not be so quick to judge or feel they know better

  5. Is it not enough that someone cared enough to take an interest in an abandoned pooch? There will ALWAYS be critics…I just wonder how many of those same people would actually try to do something than just pass judgement. I say that the results speak for themselves.

  6. 5:46 Flooding is a dangerous method that should not be used by ordinary people. It has a high chance of failure and ends up with the dogs developing different coping mechanisms rather than the dog being cured of whatever was causing him fear in the first place. I'm pretty sure this dog would've opened up 6:13 and overcome his fear without being 'flooded'. He's in a house with a person that doesn't hurt him, and that person is feeding him. It's only normal he'll start to understand that he's not in a dangerous environment, most dogs do without needing any kind of therapy.

Just because you think it works and the "results speak for themselves" doesn't mean it's right. If the ends justify the means you might as well support animal abuse because many people hit dogs in attempts to make them learn one thing or another. Like how they shouldn't pee on the carpet or how they shouldn't bite/growl or even just for pulling on the leash. A lot of those people have results… doesn't mean it's right or moral. Doesn't mean the dog likes it. Learned helplessness is a real thing.

And I'm not saying all this to bash you. It's just advice. I know it might be more convenient to flood and animal, because it's quick it causes you less anxiety, but it's not good for the dog most of the time. And if you are just patient and let them be they'll often figure things out by themselves pretty quickly.

  7. I love him so much . I ' d like caress and embrace him like you. Why people is so cruel? I' m so sorry for his past. I hope he lives a long beautiful life. Thanks to make him happy.

  8. Please dont assume the owner was responsible. With covid many animals have lost their owners and the owners had thought that they had their pet with someone they could trust

  9. Arnold must have felt very lonely and scared when abandoned. So he had to defend himself the only way he knew how. He may have been the pet of "one person" for a long time and very attached to that person too. And somehow, when separated from that person, his world shattered. But again, luckily, the people who were caring for him called HFP. Bless all those who call the HFP when a poor little creature is lost and in distress!!!

  10. Clear that the dog had been beaten and abused. Had developed a conditioned response to the anticipated pain of being hurt by the human hand. You can just imagine the trauma of his having been involved with a sadistic previous owner.

  11. With those ears you should have called him Yoda lol. Not sure why people object to 'flooding'. Different methods work with different personalities. My grandfather broke in horses using what's now called the horse whispering method during the early 1900's and he was told he was mad to do it that way. He was right and they were wrong and people bought him troublesome horses that would have gone to the slaughter house and went away with a calm gentle animal.

  12. Awww, poor baby. You can tell that precious lil Chihuahua boy was abused. I'm so happy he was adopted. Chihuahuas are the 2nd most euthanized breed in kill shelters. I hate kill shelters!!

  13. 🐾🐕🐾🥰🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤krasny drobecek,nadhwrny pejsek..takovy mazlicdk sladky..hakse tuli k panicce…
    Mam podobnou fenecku…krasni pejskove…dekuji za zachranu a peci…

  14. I remember a HFP rescue of a Poodle/Bichon Frise that was so terrified it defecated in the corner. Eldad used the 'flooding' technique and from that moment a love story began. Yes. It works. It saves lives and offers new beginnings, just as in Arnold's story. It is humane to save a life, no matter how you save that life.

  15. He’s living his best life with this New mama and looks like he will be super spoiled! He deserves this amazing life now and those disgusting owners who had him before will definitely paid the consequences of what they did to this poor beautiful fur boy!!! 😡 😢 shame on them!

  16. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝

  17. Most of the people who are critical of the "flooding" method have never in their life had first hand knowledge of a situation where it is the best method for the dog.
Keep up the amazing work you do for the animals that can't speak for themselves.

  18. Wonderful job, home owners, HFP, Foxy, and Arnold! Congratulations on helping himself get through trust issue as fast as possible via flooding. Happy New Life, Arnold! ♥️

  19. I wonder how some people would give you unkind messages. They are the worst of humanity !!!!! You are excellent persons doing the best job ever!!!! I love your work and i will support you no matter what!.❤️💕💗

  20. Chihuahuas can get a lot of flack because bad or ignorant owners don't treat them like "real" dogs but when in loving and educated hands, then can be snuggly and warm dogs just like all the others. So glad to see him trust again

  21. Every adoption makes me happy but this was extra special because of how scared he was and how well you helped him overcome that. Thank you again, and I’m sorry for the unkind messages. It’s clear to those of us committed to animals and learning about them that you know what you’re doing and you always do what’s best for them. Sending you all lots of good wishes for a happy year ahead 🙏

  22. Flooding works on Arnold because clearly he is not aggressive and doesn’t want to truly bite. He’s bite is just a warning and gentle enough, not on every dog though.

  23. Happy New Year's Day! God bless all of you that do such wonderful work. I donate to Hope For Paws in memory of my cousin that died of cancer in 2016 It was one of her final wishes. I feel like I am honoring her and helping our beautiful fur babies too!

  24. I can understand people criticising, they obviously are concerned for the dog and it’s well-being. What they need to remember is sometimes we need to be “cruel” to be kind. What I love about hope for paws team is that they assess each dog/cat/animal individually and act accordingly for the best possible outcome.

  25. The negative comments about their rescue techniques are ridiculous. The results speak for themselves. Hope for Paws is definitely one of the top 5 rescue channels on YT.
The pets are handled with compassion and patience by everyone involved. I support them whenever I can.🥰
