Cities: Skylines – Natural Disasters, In-game Trailer

Spread The Viralist

Natural Disasters will add a series of city-destroying emergencies to Cities: Skylines, which can occur unexpectedly during the game – or be manually triggered by mayors seeking a challenge or who just really dislike their citizens.

Buildings and infrastructure will suffer untold destruction unless cities include the right emergency countermeasures, and players will have to act fast to keep things running as fire and flood sweep through town. In addition, a new Scenario Mode allows for custom challenges to be designed and shared through Steam Workshop.

Thanks to the people who built the Cities we destroyed in this trailer:

  1. Anybody else thought that the helicopter would snag on the radio tower guy wires to start a disaster?

Regardless, I think the choice of music is kinda fitting with how disasters were practically a selling point for the SimCity series from the very first game (The tornado ripping through San Francisco on the box art, anyone?)

  2. It would be cool if you guys could somehow add a 'disaster recovery' zoning. It will generate temporary low to mid education level jobs but then the area will be gradually restored to its original state (including the original zoning).
