The TikTok craze is proving fatal not only for those who are shooting the videos but for those too who have nothing to do with the making of such videos.
And it’s not only India where many have lost their lives while shooting the videos on the Chinese app, but there have been many deaths in our neighbouring country Pakistan too.
According to a report in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, a policeman lost his life after a bullet, accidentally fired from his service pistol, hit his head during the recording of TikTok video. The incident took place in Gujrat city of Punjab province on Friday.
Police have arrested the cop’s three friends, including two girl students of the University of Gujrat, in connection with the death of the policeman. The victim has been identified as Constable Hassan Shahzad, a resident of Bhagowal village.
The incident happened when one of Shahzad’s woman friends took his pistol and started shooting the TikTok video. As Shahzad attempted to snatch his service pistol from her, the gun went off and the bullet hit him on the head.
Later, the suspects fled from the scene leaving the victim behind. Shahzad was found lying injured in a car near Biyowali area along Gujrat-Jalalpur Jattan road.
The policeman died at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital during the treatment.
After the bullet hit Shahzad, his three friends, including a male, fled from the spot and boarded a bus. Police later reached the site and admitted the policeman to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where he died during the treatment.
The three accused have been identified as Muhammad Waleed, Laiba Zahid and Raeesa Javed. Police traced the accused after going through the call details records of Shazhad’s phone.

According to a police officer, the slain policemen and his close friend Waleed picked up the two girls from their university campus on Thursday evening. Later, all four of them went to Lahore and spent the night there.
