I'm still in shock that he was released from the hospital less than 48 hours after the crash. I'm not sure if that's a bigger testament to how far safety has come over the years or just how tough he is.

Now, I'm going to prerequisite what I am about to say by saying I don't watch NASCAR, so I don't really have a good metric on what defines a bad crash, but that being said, am I the only one that wasn't really fazed by this. I mean clearly it was a very bad crash due to Ryan Newman's condition, but (as an outsider looking in) I'm confused as to how this could be bad. When I think bad crashes, I think Robert Wickens at Pocono, or Sophia Floersch at Macau. And when I think of tragic crashes I think of Anthoine Hubert, Dan Weldon, or Jules Bianchi. Anyway, all the best wishes to Ryan.
