    I have washed my hamsters using a very mild calendula shampoo for animals. I have dried them afterwards with a towel and a hairdryer. They are all still alive and well.

    So bathing in water per se is not dangerous for hamsters. The only thing you shouldn't do is bathe them often just for fun, without any reason.

    PS: Hamsters that live freely in nature will get wet when it rains. I don't think that the rain will kill them.
