Ghost Caught on Camera at USS Yorktown

Spread The Viralist

It’s no secret that Charleston is one of South Carolina’s most haunted cities. This year the ETV production team decided to highlight a place with lots of claims of unexplained paranormal phenomena…the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.

The USS Yorktown has a long history dating back to World War II. The ship was a safe haven for her crew and now is a symbol of freedom and liberty.

Our ETV crew decided to learn more about the ship and investigate the claims of ghostly events by spending the night on the ship with cameras rolling. What we didn’t expect was actually catching a ghost on camera.

Do you believe in ghost or do you think this is all just hocus-pocus? Let us know via Facebook and Twitter @palmettoscene.

A special thanks to the crew of the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point and USS Yorktown Ghost Tours.

  1. Wow this is crazy. I went aboard back in 2008, it was one of the coolest things I've ever explored with all the tight-fit areas. My brother and I jumped a roped-off area and wandered down an escalator to the bottom cause it was dark and spooky looking. Really just 2 young, immature hooligans acting up trying to sneak away from authority. I had no idea it was "haunted"
    Ignorance is bliss

  2. I believe in the spirit world, and that ghosts exists, especially onboard ships. When I'm gone from this world my spirit might walk the passageway of my old ship for a day or two to visit my old stomping grounds lol Idk. It's all good, of coarse, as the ghosts on this ship. It sounds like a fun tour!

  3. I stayed over night there and there was rumored that a ghost named charlie would do tricks on you lmao but one thing i remember is that me and my friends where in the same room so me and my other friend told my other group of friends that we were going to the bathroom since the batroom was in the same room as we were and so me and my friend came out and went to the first floor/ entrance of the ship to look at the view. My friends later came looking for us scared saying that they thought we were in there because they never saw us leaving from ghe bathroom and i was SHOOK thinking that a ghost took over my body idk im bad at explaining but in real life this was scary lmaoo

  4. You do realize, chubby one, that soldiers 2:40 are not stationed on carriers, right? I think you have a very active imagination and talked ourself into a lot. Old ships, like old houses, make noises. You just sounded foolish. So does the guy in the hat. That does not sound like someone climbing a ladder, (ships don't have "steps", they are called ladders.). Again, old ships like old houses, make noises.

  5. I dont normally believe in ghosts. alot of it is hookey….however…On warships, I think there are. happened to me twice, once on USS Missouri, I got lost and a guy dressed as a sailor helped me find my group. Never could find him to thank him. the other was the U-Boat pens in France.

  6. I spent years on 11 aircraft carriers and there are always bangs, I think they were ghosts, but the CAG said they were prisoners from the Marine brig with chipping hammers.

  7. I will never believe in ghosts unless I see it with my own two eyes in person. I believe that once you are dead, you are either in Heaven or hell. Your soul doesn’t stick around around on earth. It’s either with God or with the devil.
