5. Terrible movie ..The south VN people do not have the bad manner that the people in the movie have ..The people in the movie were so rude and said all wrong things … and those bad rude , violent behaviors were only came from the people live in North VN ..I don't like this movie …

10. The story cannot help but touch your heart with sadness. So many guys spilled their guts that others could taste freedom they would never know again. The problems for the refugees only multiplied after arriving here not knowing the future of their families, loved, and themselves in their new country that seemed to care nothing for them.

15. I was at Camp Pendleton, station in area 51 while this was happening, I worked in the warehouse that supplied Tents and other supplies. I remember we were told not to associate or make contact with the Vietnamese, They kept us Marines away from them. Also, the rumors among the Marines were that they were the Wealthy Vietnamese that made it out and that they brought out a lot of Gold. I have no idea if all the rumors were true or not. I enlisted at the end of the war or conflict. there were a lot of Marines who were on drugs during this time or at least where I was. Also, at least 3 Marines were murder on the base, I don't know if they ever found out who did it, There were race problems that may have been the reason or someone was a narc. There was a lot of tension in the warehouse area, that spook me at times. 🙁 I was glad to leave there in Dec. a few Marine believed that I was a Narc because I spoke out against drugs. I had to watch my back. It was that bad. 🙁

    Some of those refugees live here in the Kansas City area, near where I live, I worked with 5 of them at my job where we are all retired from now. We had a good relationship and they related to me because I was near Tent City, we had a bond of being at the same place at the same time. I enlisted in March of 1974 when I turn 18 but was sent to Boot camp in Sept of 1974, I spent the whole year of 1975 at Pendleton. Sorry, I can't tell you all of the stories. I would wear you down. LOL!

25. I never heard of this film, beautiful. It outlines the tragedy of the communists both there and here. I trained with the 198th L.I.B. Ft. Hood became returnees final post when they were short timers. I now ride with several veterans, Marine, Army . These Vietnamese people did not sit and wait to be government fed they did, doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists. Their children graduated top of their classes. What we left behind were the Montagnards who helped our SPECOPs, they were slaughtered or imprisoned.

29. I'm a Vietnam Vet (1968/69) and I usually don't watch films about Vietnam. Once you walk through hell you don't want to relive it in a movie. This movie was quite different from what I expected. I really enjoyed it. It has a great cast especially Patrick Swayze and Forest Whitaker. The story, Direction and the Music score by Jeff and Mychael Danna was Excellent. Thanks for the excellent upload. Out.

39. South vietnam cried for the world to help as the north invaded and killed. We even flew babies back on planes. Hippies protested in the place TRYING TO HELP… Instead of North Vietnam. Hippies just wanted attention, drugs and rock and roll. They helped north vietnam if anything…
