British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.

Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.

British Pathé also represents the Reuters historical collection, which includes more than 120,000 items from the news agencies Gaumont Graphic (1910-1932), Empire News Bulletin (1926-1930), British Paramount (1931-1957), and Gaumont British (1934-1959), as well as Visnews content from 1957 to the end of 1979.   1. There's an extended video of Franz Reichelt's jump from the Eiffel tower: he looks worried and not so determined to try.
    At some extent he seemingly looks as if he "had to" .He was likely to be giving up weren't it for a big show being on.

  2. I actually went to see where Donald Campbell was buried last week and I saw what was left of the Bluebird. At his grave there is his teddy bear which he had taken on the Bluebird with him. Its amazing to see how they recovered so much of the wreck. Also, the Le mans disaster looked horrific. Shoutout to al those who died.

  3. You know, whenever I hear an old guy talking of the "good ol days when they didn't fuss about safety so much", I'll be sure to point out Le Mans as a prime example for safety in racing.

  4. This video is very disturbing. And i think this it is inappropriate for us to watch their deadly moment. It is actually unrespectful. I hope a prompt action will be taken. What if underage children watch this? They will get trauma of course.
